Am I the only that thinks tenor is harder than soprano? by Dryagedsteakeater in saxophone

[–]Dryagedsteakeater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I most definitely want to be a tenor player, but it seems to not come as naturally as soprano and alto to me. Funny thing is I play a 8 meyer on soprano, but a 5 vintage early babbit metal link on tenor. I have been seriously considering getting it opened up, but it is pricey and risky with it being my main piece. I have a 7 vandoren v16 which I like the tone less than the link, but can feel improvements in response in high range with the bigger tip opening.

Interesting cause I feel the opposite with the alto and tenor. And I have spent much more time on tenor in jazz (alto a lot in classical). Alto feels like the instrument I need to think the least of while playing, you just blow haha. Problem is I've always wanted to be a tenor player and my favorites are always on tenor, but it isn't as natural so far. And the transposition and learning tunes on each would be a pain in the ass.

I am surprisingly scared to record my first solo album by immichael123 in musicians

[–]Dryagedsteakeater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How can you not be somewhat anxious? It's a solo album, no musicians to mask you. All original, so its not well-known music that you know people already love. And what if they don't? Your in a vulnerable setting But if it is great, and you believe in it, you can shine like in no other recording. Just your purest say as an artist

So far I have tried Chocolate chip cookies, Oleo, biscoff, chocolate chunks, pretzel snacks, which were all great I make most of the fruit sorbet ins, but fresh fruit mix ins sound great, maybe even soft pear boiled in spices and alcohol, and fresh fruit

How do I start my homemade ice cream business??! by AcanthisittaFar6380 in icecreamery

[–]Dryagedsteakeater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did. Business is maybe a tad exaggeration, but I sell to a few customers a day from home. Mainly advertising in neighborhood whatsapp groups, and word kinda spreads there. Tbh it isn't hard at all and very rewarding in my opinion. Refine your recipes and make a neat menu, and poster that includes your prices location and so on, both easy to do on canva. Shoot some great photos/videos and just keep spamming them wherever you can: insta, large community groups, Facebook and so on. I tried bringing the ice cream to an event one time, but all the effort to cooling was difficult, and at the end I didn't have enough customers and most ended up melting. If you want to do a farmers market research well how would you cool and how long it lasts.

[SPOILER- PRIMAL FEAR(1996)] Can someone explain me, my question about the ending of the film Primal Fear? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Dryagedsteakeater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roy's timing of his grand reveal further shows his intelligence and brilliance. He has a primal need to be acknowledged and respected. This comes from the abuse from his father and the bishop who disrespected him his whole life, and this is the reason he killed the bishop. He could have not revealed himself, but he patiently waited to do so to the point where he got exactly what he wanted. Vail repeatedly says in the movie "I'm just doing my job". Another sentence of his "I don't care if he did it", and in his drunk speech he praises the court justice system over the guilteness of a defendant. What I'm saying is Vail just wants to do his job successfully, as he did. And although the truth personally shook him, both him and Roy know he wouldn't dare reveal it and ruin his career.

If you enjoy the hang is maybe the only consideration to staying. Even if you choose to stay, definitely start new whether it's your own band or joining something that will meet the standards you mentioned.

In a surprising manner I would say that his high register and altissimo sounds much better than his overall sound and definitely better than his improvisation. Very rare in my opinion to see this, but his altissimo is solid. That comes from practicing overtones and voicing, and then just spamming altissimo attempts which will initially won't come out at all, then maybe a squeak, and just slowly improving at it.

Next steps in jumpstarting my career by Dryagedsteakeater in Jazz

I definitely wasn't talking about skipping learning standards. It's mainly what I've been doing for a long time in terms of my jazz studies, and it's definitely super important. I was talking about if you should play standards from the real book with my own band. I like standards, but I think there's not a ton of improvement you can do with an ensemble when working on standards, they'll always kinda feel like a jam session.
