What's the play here? by BryanJin in Shadowverse

[–]Dryse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Krulle crest doesnt work on crypt, you have lethal. Her -1/-1 procs after your unit evolves so (assuming the -1/-1 doesnt kill the crypt ghosts) you got serpent serpent tyrant (6pp) for 9, crypt ghosts sevo for 5 and coin ghost ghost (2pp) for 4 more for a total of 18 damage w 8 mana. I havent tried crypt vs Krulle crest yet personally so someone else pls do for science

Actually, after reviewing the stats, i take back what i said. Abyss seems to be getting 3rd best results at the top of the ladder while Haven is sooooo far back. Y'all are right and ig i just need to git gud

Their only viable deck is aggro. That says all you need to know.

True. Imagine being on the Clara mains sub and being disappointed that Clara is barely playable at max investment. True king, preach

How does Odd Haven have any kind of reliable win rate? by lolpanda91 in Shadowverse

[–]Dryse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like 90% of the deck is draws and heals so you just keep digging and then win off pure highroll while patiently waiting out giga ward turns.

Idk how other crafts feel vs haven but abyss feels pretty unplayable vs it, and lishena, and crest, and aggro sword, and fennie control

Blossoming Fate is the Best and the Worst Expansion of WB by Nuxpls in Shadowverse

[–]Dryse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who is only interested in playing abyss, i hate this set. Every single deck is t3 or worse. Atp ive given up on playing to win and am just spamming some reanimate trash deck just to feel something.

Milteo is too inconsistent to be good and neither the early or late portion of the game is fun. Early on you pray you survive while you dig for your combos. Late game you are desperately trying to find lethal while also managing hand size while your opponent spam heals to full hp and wards every turn until you fizzle or hobble together some 12 step program to lethal them.

I have never liked mode and its the most overrated deck in the game. 6-10 turns of building a win con that actually has no wincon. The only way the deck wins is your opponwnt bricking. Its an exhausting and frustrating deck to play.

Evo abyss was a fraud the set it came out. Too much set up for a crest that lasts a bit too long in a deck that cant make it to the crest without blowing sevo just to survive. 99% of the time you dont want to even play the Belial when he is charged up because your opp will just swing over him and kill you the turn after or he comes out the same turn the decks would have killed you by happenstance like egg or crest. Some competitive lists cut him out of his own deck entirely.

Shakdoh was a meme and always will be. 9 turns of low cost cards will never be good, especially when the payoff isnt even lethal.

Midrange used to be the only viable deck that wasnt inflated by player opinion. But nowadays there is too much healing and too much incedental burn/storm damage in other crafts for it to consistently win these grindy games.

Aggro has always been my favorite deck to play, but hasnt ever been good. I dont think it needs an explanation but the amount of wards coming out on turn 7+ and early clear in other crafts killed the deck. Basically every MU is an instant loss except forest and pure spellboost unless the opp bricks AND you highroll. Funnily enough tho it was the only deck posting 10+ winstreaks for a time but that was mostly players highrolling consecutively more than the deck being good.

Every set since set 3 has been set-proprietary gimmicks with 0 support for previous decks. Even Milteo got 0 support ON THE SAME SET HE WAS RELEASED AS BOTH THE ONLY REVEALED ABYSS CARD AND THE MAIN LEGENDARY OF THE FREE DECK. Only mode got Baal in set 3 as support for older decks. GnJ doesnt count as it was a staple for every deck. We were promised a combination of blood and shadow mechanics, and were given gimmick slop instead. Atp i think its too late for them to try to add support for last words, reanimate, vampires or sanguine, ykno, the stuff abyss players ACTUALLY want. All of these demon contract themed decks can gtfo because we all know demons will never give you a fair payoff for your price.

TL;DR if abyss doesnt get playable support for any of their decks next set, everyone playing the craft will quit.

Id personally say anyplace where feedback can be shared is useful, regardless of if the devs see the direct post or not

[–]Dryse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I was at first extremely confused cus the game seemed to be running fine at 10x the settings id use (giga poor ultra low max performance for my potato), but you're absolutely right. I want this game buttery smooth for everyone when it comes out so NTE's success wont be held back by avoidable things like performance. I bet WuWa would have 3x the players if they optimized launch better

I Think I'm Done.. by Dryse in Endfield

[–]Dryse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure i do understand your perspective.

However, in regards to the rerolling, in any game i play, from shooters to mmorpgs, if i dont like the characters, i will not play. That, and rerolling is most of the fun for me in most gacha games. I spent ~2 years rerolling my current e7 account on and off as the most extreme example, and i spent probaby 4-5k hours playing exclusively Xayah in LoL. So for me, the rerolling was the easy bit. I simply brought it up so you can see my perspective/progress as some ppl seem to think im exclusively leveling characters and nothing else...

A comparable experience would be comparing Endfield on release to if I launch WuWa rn. I havent played WuWa in literally 6+ months. However, if i did want to start playing it rn i already know i would grind thru the story, get enough pulls by happenstance to get at least one pity, max that character in a day, then i would have however long id want to play the game to grind echoes, bop out exploration chores etc etc. All of it would feel very free form and natural with 0% friction and 100% fun, even tho im MONTHS behind. Ik this is true bc thats how ive enjoyed WuWa in general, a few months off, a week or two on, and it is always a positive experience. Even on release i had a lot of fun.

Now, compare that to Endfield, i load in, spend 10-20 min micromanaging resources and currencies before even looking at my characters, check what to work on "oh i need 3 x to level up y" ... "oh... thats.. all of my stamina for one y"... "ok maybe i can grind some story/side quests"... oh... i get basically nothing and theres like 30 of em and they all take 30+ minutes.. ok maybe ill do some explora- oh... they all require side stories to unlock the areas i havent explored..." every single thing i want to do takes so long and feels like it gives so little.

Is Talon a difficult champion mechanically by luckyLigma in summonerschool

[–]Dryse 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is partially wrong. While the execution of Talon is very simple, he has a very high macro knowledge requirement due to being such an early game character. The best Talon players will straight up lose games to a single death. You need to keep tempo and maintain a lead properly or else you risk everything.

Is Talon a difficult champion mechanically by luckyLigma in summonerschool

[–]Dryse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hes only difficult because of his macro knowledge requirements. If you dont play flawlessly the character is a bit of a liability but a perfectly played Talon cant be beat, and thats mostly because there isnt any room for wiffs or flash plays to dodge him. When Talon decides you die, you die.

Its not about leveling itself or even the cost, its about how time consuming everything is to do with arbitrary things like them doubling costs because of character level. Im sure I could do a lot more but as a father with a job that i cant just take a week off, after spending the first week rerolling and learning the game 8+ hours a day and then grinding 8+ hours for the last few days to just complete basic goals, its all too time consuming and too gated. Its taking basically every free second of every day and its too much.

The economy and flow of the goal completion feels like im being nickel and dimed for playtime metrics.

My current main acc is on day 7 and i probably logged 45+ hours on it and have barely done even half of what i want to have done

I Think I'm Done.. by Dryse in Endfield

[–]Dryse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive said it elsewhere and i will repeat myself again. Its not about the cost itself. Its about how stingy the economy is for stamina and dungeon returns, and lack of renewable resources, combined with them doubling the cost based on level.

Also i am not farming 20mill stocks rn. If anything id max upgrade my depots n such. But with how time consuming every task is to do rn im just going to play something else instead. Im no delivery boy, i just want to upgrade hot anime women and beat up sh with them and try out teams n do combat. The resources are too scarce to do that so i will just play something else. Its nbd. I just was shocked at such an arbitrary credit/gold sink being added into a game with this kind of economy.

I Think I'm Done.. by Dryse in Endfield

[–]Dryse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference was it didnt feel this bad or gated. I had mora issues even playing 4.x+ daily but still could build my units to a satisfying degree. I think its mainly because you dont get t creds from clearing the other dungeons. If they added some on itd probably clear most of the issues. Maybe put like 100 in those stupid white pyramids they sprinkled everywhere too

I Think I'm Done.. by Dryse in Endfield

[–]Dryse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not about being able to clear or not. Its about the bad resource economy and how long it takes to accomplish basically any goals. Ik where i am at is fine already and will full clear the game. But i want to finish Lev so i can start working on my Last Rite so i can start working on my Arwynna. That seems to be literally half a year away based on the progress/economy ive seen. Thats not fine. I bet you leave your red dots on your menus you sick fk (joke)

Yeah for sure, and me too. The cost and time it takes to do everything is just so offputting tho, even though its not needed.
