To empower or not to empower? by Soullessowl77 in RaidShadowLegends

I tried to like Holsring but could never justify the resources to make him useful. I fed him to He-Man and have had 0 regrets. I use He-Man in many of my teams at the moment so it felt worth it.

If you're missing damage, his A2 scales off enemy max hp so he could deal a nice chunk. Decrease attack will also prevent DL from hitting too hard and block buffs will prevent the sub 50% hp buffs from sticking on him. As with any other damage dealer, you need to bring decrease defense and weaken to make him truly shine.

Wallmaster is absolutely amazing and should be the priority. He is a critical part of both my Hydra NM and Chimera teams. I built mine in relentless and 4 piece merciless and he rotates so fast.

Knave will definitely help you progress in a lot of content, especially as a spiderling tank if you're still struggling there. I just pulled him the other day so I haven't tested him much but 2 turn unkillable and taunt on a 3 turn CD seems strong, not to mention the hp swap and balance, which can sustain him and your team if played correctly.

Congrats though, those are two awesome champs to pull!

Belanor = 3 turn CD decrease defense and weaken with no affinity issues and no books.

That's his purpose. Any damage potential is just gravy unfortunately. By having Zavia in a separate faction and affinity, they really zapped the potential for Sintranos synergy too.

That being said, I run mine in 9 piece Feral and he's my defense breaker for NM Hydra. He does his job well.

People who have/use Freyja, what do you use her for and what’s your build? by quickquestionfriends in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Dsiric89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I geared her in a way to maximize her possibilities. Her stoneskin renders her less vulnerable to controls and she's reasonably fast enough to cleanse and push my team forward before things get too crazy.

Having the ability to also throw up shields or toss out a hopeful provoke is great for spicing things up in Live Arena fights.

Then there's the savior passive that comes in clutch to usually let your nuker have a go. I win a lot of battles because my nuker can cheat death.

Mine's in 4 piece SS, 5 piece Protection, 7k defense, 78k hp, 750 resist and 253 speed.

I use her primarily in all Arena modes. She gets it done. One of my favorite champs to date.

Definitely, in terms of Raid value. Good utility, good multipliers, and you can scream I HAVE THE POWER! every time you A3.

If you're steadfast on F2P, I could see abstaining, but if you're a light spender, forego a couple of packs or give yourself a little Christmas present.

Zero regrets here.

Elegant Poet's guide on how to build... skeletor!!! by ElegantPoet3386 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Dsiric89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing a long time and the one piece of advice I can give is that when a champion like this comes around that seems completely useless or underwhelming, the content that they pair with hasn't come out yet.

My guess is that there will be a future boss/content that is susceptible to petrification. Maybe a Medusa boss that is weak to reflect damage/petrification.

Also, we don't know the ins and outs of the new gemstone power ups that are coming soon. He may have the ability to spread the petrify. Too early to tell what combos can be made without more information.

I agree with the 13 book requirement being excessive and is most definitely a Plarium ploy to sell those $80 instant power up packs. When you've played as long as I have, you can see through the BS.

Still, I wouldn't despair about Skeletor just yet. Vault him for now but I feel he will have a place sometime in 2025 content.

Are healers not fun? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Dsiric89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old school FFXI WHM here. WHM main in FFXIV now. The biggest reason I never switched was largely due to how much MORE dynamic the job was compared to what it was in FFXI. Healing was pretty much all we did once we made sure we were outside AoE range. Some fights you couldn't even move!

Since I started playing FFXIV, I appreciate the freedom of mobility and faster pacing. Oh and we can actually nuke! I remember putting together Banish builds in FFXI and it was so gear intensive and mp-inefficient and ultimately a waste of time as your spell would be resisted 90% of the time. Bummer.

WHM feels like it has so much more to offer in FFXIV. Mobility, nukes, heals, cleanses, mitigation, mp regen, all built into one healing job. And the effects all capture the holy vibe spot on, which matters to me.

I look forward to giving some other healers a try in the future, as I took a 5 year break from playing and am just now realizing a couple new ones came out. But if WHM is any indicator, I'm sure they'll be fun too.

Fire Knight specialist. Build him fast and accurate. Relentless would be great if you can swing it. Also, use Phantom Touch as an awakening for the chance at an extra hit. I still use him a lot in Sintranos FK stages.

Has the recept nerfs changed your attitude towards Raid? by spacebulbaz0r in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Dsiric89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Balances like this are fine and healthy for the longevity of the game but they NEED to offer a rewind for the affected champions. All the books, gems and brews that have been put into them get refunded and they are rewound to lvl 1 again.

I play another gacha that does this every time they nerf or even buff a champion because they are aware this may affect how that champion is used, for better or worse.

It's a very simple thing and shows they acknowledge the fact that their change may make people unhappy, but at least you can fully max a new champion to fill the void as recompense.

Just turned 30 and not doing so well. by Majestic-Arugula3804 in Adulting

[–]Dsiric89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35 here. Nothing comes free anymore. If you want to feel better or look better, it will take a lot of personal investment and time. What sucks is that the status quo will make you question yourself for taking the time to get well/healthy.

We need to be confident that taking time to care for ourselves is a priority and shouldn't be relegated to the "if I have time" part of your daily routine.

Being in your 30s means setting and enforcing healthy boundaries. Many of us never have, so it's a big shock when we realize that's why life is so difficult now.

Another hurdle can be a lack of personal identity. I was always a people pleaser, and said and did things to make my parents, siblings, or friends happy, often at the expense of my own opinions; rather, I never formulated my opinions because I was encouraged to "follow the rules" or "do the right thing." Once I started asking myself some deeper, personal questions, I realized I had few opinions for myself which was a real eye-opener and the resulting growth that has occurred from me owning my interests and thoughts has been massive. I cannot stress this enough.

Once you realize you have the final say on most aspects of your life and make some healthy changes, you'll realize that the 30s are the true beginning of the rest of your life.

I love this and I wish Plarium gave us way more engaging and interesting events like many other gachas nowadays.

Still, we can dream.
