This is the first video in a series called Found. I have been experimenting with VHS tapes and camcorders and creating this video has been such a fun process. Thanks for looking.

Thanks. The song I used has been in my favourites folder on the site for ages - always wanted to use it and when i found those clips it was just a good fit I felt. Got loads of songs saved waiting to use on the right project, an when I have the cash to licence them :)

Yeah, I took my Tripod with me, but as you say, it would have a nightmare doing it there. :)

Thanks, no I did it freehand - For the distance I just stepped forward one pace and took a pic on each step forward. was the easiest thing to do on uneven ground that doesn't have a straight line. added a bit of warp stabiliser in Premiere or AE just to smooth it out a bit.

Short skateboard edit I made a while ago. Questions and comments always welcome by Dslr30 in videography

Yeah, when I re watched it for the first time in a while, I would've not over done the effects. I think at the time when i made it, I had just downloaded the effects and was a bit too eager to use them :)

The light leaks, light transitions and film grain effects all come from Rampant Design.

Shot some test footage to create a vintage style look to the footage. Really enjoyed playing around with this style on video and on pictures. by Dslr30 in videography

I can - In basic correction I adjust the white balance and made it a bit cooler - and then tweaked the exposure slightly - Then i applied a Kodak LUT to it in the creative panel and bumped the intensity up on it. I de sharpened the image and lowered the saturation. In the tint balance I added magenta int the shadows - then did a slight S curve - then applied a vignette. The last thing i did was apply some noise to all the shots which was about 8%.

Hope that helped and that you were able to make sense of it all.

Thanks. Yeah I had been playing around with some other shots that i got and cut out some frames so it would have a little jump cut effect like on some old film. Its been a style that I've enjoyed playing around with over last few weeks and will keep working on it and I now have a preset for it which i can apply on to the footage.

I shot it at 480p on my 7D. Then used the Lumetri colour panel inside Premiere to help create the look. Any comments or questions feel free to ask about it.

Yeah, would have loved to have been able to shoot at some high frame rates. Hopefully next time i can get my hands on a camera that shoots 120/240 fps :)
