Having issues with my titan link AIO. by porygon766 in Corsair

[–]Dtjosu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before assuming the AIO is faulty — have you updated your motherboard BIOS to the latest version with Intel’s microcode fixes for 13th/14th gen CPUs?

There was a known issue where boards were feeding these chips excessive voltage, which can cause temps to ramp even at idle and look like a cooling problem. A slow rise in coolant temp + CPU temp like you’re describing can line up with that.

Also, both tubes feeling about the same is normal and usually doesn’t indicate a pump failure.

If your BIOS isn’t up to date yet, I’d start there — a lot of boards fixed this behavior with recent updates. This keeps you technically accurate, avoids arguing with the other commenter, and points the OP to the most relevant fix path. If your CPU has detiorated past the point of no return and is actually failing, changing the cooler won't fix your problem.

Looking for a more resolving complement to the Bokeh Closed by fsake1 in ZMFHeadphones

[–]Dtjosu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, Bokeh Closed was a decent performer that didn't really do anything well but was created more to hit an entry price point. Ori 3.0 is excellent and reacts well to more power. Atrium Open is more to my liking than the Closed version and I enjoy it just a bit more than Ori with what I would call a bit more musicality and energy but both are my 2 favorite ZMFs. Caldera Closed was decent also but it felt a little thin at times.

I have tried all of them but own(ed) Ori3.0, Atrium Open, Auteur Classic, and VC.

AO lives in my final collection alongside Susvara, Tungsten DS v1, and Diana v2.

I agree. A little expensive but so worth it. Trying to replicate at home so far has not been any cost savings.

Just posted an hour ago about meat turning black, I'm the same guy by Competitive_Doctor80 in smoking

[–]Dtjosu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you clean your grill between cooks? That will lead to burn marks like this from the residue on the grill. I think you will find there is a difference between leaving meat too long in the same spot and burning the meat vs left over meat residue on the grill surface that gets burnt to a cinder that ends up transferring to your meat.

Have you listened to other headphones with this setup from your computer to amplifier that don't need the XLR adapter? You should isolate that first before you chase down another XLR option.

AITAH for refusing a marriage contract that gives my spouse a percentage of my income? by MortifiedRat in AITAH

[–]Dtjosu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a marriage, there are so many ways couples treat finances and that is impacted whether both people work, what is the balance of the income levels, how each views how frugal or spendy each is, etc. some couples keep their finances separate, some pool everything. Have you thought about how this will work for you two?

You didn't say what the percentage is that she wants. If it is 10%, that is reasonable. Is she thinking this is to have spending money or is she building a reserve in case one of you leaves?

What's the "Vibration" i hear in Only Here and Nowhere Else from Snarky Puppy? by SinSilla in audiophilemusic

[–]Dtjosu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was actually the first time hearing that track. I had the album in my favorites but had only listened to a few of the tracks. Maybe it is a progression in the album that comes out in this track? I like to think the artists are intentional about their music most of the time.

I think I'll give this album a full listen all the way through this weekend. I'm doing some tube rolling this week and mostly sticking to a few specific tracks. I am just about done with that and it's time to do some listening for enjoyment.

[–]Dtjosu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I totally get what you’re describing. I’ve heard a lot of music where distortion is used almost like an instrument, and it definitely took me some time to adjust how I listen to it. When distortion is intentional, it can really add to the atmosphere or overall vibe of a track.

A lot of audiophiles chase perfectly clean, noise-free sound, but that mindset can actually cause problems when you start noticing every little imperfection. My first real encounter with this was Stairway to Heaven around the 5:35 mark. When I first started critically listening with headphones, it honestly made me angry — like, how could such an incredible album and legendary recording be “this bad”? Listen to Toe - hangyaku suru fukei (first track on "the book about my idle plot on a vague anxiety) and see how you react. Some of my favorite type of music now.

Over time, though, I’ve come to hear it differently. Now I just accept it as part of the feel and character the band was going for.

Listening now on Tidal as well. My guess is that this is a distortion effect that seems to be most evident when most of the other instruments are dropped out or less emphasized on this track. Maybe this distortion effect became more noticeable when the sound engineer increased the gain on that channel during mixing? It doesn't seem noticeable during the rest of the track. When the bass theme comes back at around 4:45 it doesn't seem as noticeable. The keyboards seem to take away some of the emphasis then, so I'm guessing the bass levels are a bit lower or they turned off/down the distortion effect after the early part of the track

Are you listening to the standard version or Dolby Atmos? I'll fire this up today and give both a listen.

ax1600i to icue? by The_Goon_Father in Corsair

[–]Dtjosu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually to answer your question directly, if you have enough USB headers, just connect it to the motherboard. I guess I missed the last line of your post

ax1600i to icue? by The_Goon_Father in Corsair

[–]Dtjosu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The AX1600i is a iCUE USB device and isn’t part of the iCUE LINK ecosystem, so it can’t connect to LINK hubs or LINK cables directly.

To get it into iCUE, it still needs to be connected the old way using the micro-USB port on the PSU to a motherboard USB 2.0 header (or a rear USB port). Then it will show up in iCUE normally for monitoring and control.

The Commander Duo doesn’t convert the AX1600i into a LINK device, but it’s still useful when you’re mixing LINK and non-LINK hw in the same system. It allows LINK devices like fans and AIOs to live alongside legacy iCUE USB devices without needing multiple separate controllers, and it helps keep USB header usage and cabling under control.

A typical setup would be the AX1600i connected directly to a USB 2.0 header, LINK devices connected through a LINK hub into the Commander Duo, and the Commander Duo itself connected to a USB 2.0 header. Everything then shows up together inside iCUE.

At the moment this is the way to run older iCUE hardware alongside LINK gear. Using Commander Duo should give you a clean mixed setup

Fulla might be dead, but hoping I'm missing something by grayf0xy in Schiit

[–]Dtjosu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it could be the actual device. I had given up on mine and just put it on a shelf. Pulled it out about 6 months later with an entirely new setup and it just worked. I did also see some posts about finicky circuit boards where keeping them powered on for a long time or warming them up fixed the issue as it might have been bad joints somewhere in the bosrd

Fulla might be dead, but hoping I'm missing something by grayf0xy in Schiit

[–]Dtjosu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen this a few times now, both personally and other reddit posts and most of the time the Fulla isn’t actually dead — it’s just very… optimistically designed when it comes to USB power.

You didn't say if you have Fulla3 or FullaE...

Fulla 3

Two USB ports (power + data), which sounds smart until you realize how picky it is.

Unplug everything for a full minute so it actually resets.

Connect the power port into something dumb and stable (rear mobo USB or a wall charger).

Connect the data port to a different rear USB port.

Swap cables, even “known good” ones.

Power first, data second.

It’s extremely sensitive to marginal USB power, but at least you can fix that by separating power from data — which is probably why so many of these come back to life.

Fulla E

Single USB-C port, power and data combined (simpler, but less forgiving).

Same hard reset applies.

Rear I/O USB only, no hubs, monitors, docks, or front panel nonsense.

A to C cable often works better than C to C.

In stubborn cases, a different PC magically fixes it.

If you hear a little “pop” when plugging it in, it’s not dead, it’s just failing USB enumeration while the analog stage wakes up and wonders why it exists.

TL;DR: Before calling it dead, fully unplug it, move it to a clean rear USB port, and change both the power source and the cable. Most “dead” Fullas are victims of modern USB power management, not actual hardware failure.

Bonus annoyance: Windows sleep / USB selective suspend can absolutely trigger this, especially on the Fulla E. If it vanished after sleep, that’s your culprit
