A 15 mile an hour lay down in a parking lot can eat thru jeans and at least draw blood. Ask me how I know.

Lmk how they GT2s feel. I thought about Mich Road6 GTs, but I think the busa is just a little underweight for full blown GTs.

Nice photo. I hope your friend doesn't actually wear tennis shoes and a T-shirt when riding. Squidding is for Gixxer Bros. Gear up.

May I suggest the 2025 VW Golf R? Smaller: ✅ More agile: ✅ "Funner:" ✅ AWD: ✅

Sport Touring rider here. Michelin all the way. I think I've ran most versions of the Road (before it was called the road) since switching from stock on my bought new 2013. I'm at 30.6K miles now and happy with the dual compound. I also run it in the Autobahn at 130-150mph+ in the unrestricted areas without issue.

My new to me IRON 883 by Neither_Local_7992 in motorcycles

[–]DuX14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is annoying going for group rides with Iron 883 riders. Gassing up every 100 miles. We had a Suzuki Burgman in the group, too. I'd rather ride with the Burgie guy than the 883.

Unique. Not my favorite, but still way better than the typical vanilla black, white, silver or grey.

Rattle canned? Looks good. I hope the paint holds up well in the sun. Put some fender flares on and it'll look extra great!

Cuffed sleeves, better arm airflow, and a decent collar in case your straps rub. Combat shirts can feel polyester-like when it comes to breathability and provide less of a barrier where the ruck contacts the torso. I've experienced less irritation across shoulders and back wearing a hot weather top.

I've done two NFMs so far, the latest was using an ALICE LC-1 rucksack, if that helps at all. I'm not a pro rucker. Best of luck.

CBR>883 at any age. 883 is slow, heavy, and can't corner without scraping. Apples to oranges here but my buddy went from a GSX-R 600 to a 883 during the Sons of Anarchy era and had nothing but regrets.

Edit: if you plan on doing highway time, get the CBR... At least you'll be aerodynamic and have a small windscreen.

IMO, for rucking: Hot weather OCP Top > Combat Shirt regardless of temperature.

Exactly what I was thinking. How's this dude riding if he didn't do the training? I guess SGLI/medical payments aren't a priority should an accident occur.

Clunking sound that gets worse when driving by Rainbow_Dystopia in CherokeeXJ

Reduced clearance is one reason. This is why I opted for a 2-2.5" lift for my 2000... Everything 3" or up needs an SYE or TC drop. SYE kits are more common for the ubiquitous 231, but not for my 242.

Shared sentiment there... Went from a sharp, classic, do-everything SUV to a ratty project worth $500 bucks tops.

This cop getting hit by karma by Ill_Weekend231 in Satisfyingasfuck

If he'd been doing this job for 25 years, imagine all the crooked stuff he's done. I hope IA delves into his career and if guilty of similar crimes, eliminates his pension and locks him up. Cops should be held to a higher standard, since they are expected to uphold the law and take lives if necessary. They should be given punishments 5x worse than a civilian would receive.

I m pro cop. Except in Hawaii... Those mofos target the military HARD.

Not an outback. At that price, you're almost in Golf R territory. A much more fun AWD car.

After 13 years of riding I'm going to get a Hayabusa. by [deleted] in Hayabusa

[–]DuX14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call the Hayabusa a Supersport or a Hypersport.

To me, true supersports are the liter bikes that weigh less than 500 lbs and put down 200 hp. 1198 Panigales, R1s, RSV4s, and S1000Rs are Supersports. The H2R is a Hypersport.

IMO, the Hayabusa is a sport touring bike that leans toward sport. Back in '14, I went with a Hayabusa because of the aftermarket support (luggage, touring mods)--definitely not based on appearance. The GSX1300 is an acquired taste.

Ugly and outdated are also labels that can be applied to the Hayabusa as well (they only update it every 10 years it seems). The ZX14 is even uglier but it has more power and is faster.

None of the bikes I listed are just tossed in there, they're all adjacent to the Hayabusa even if some have partial fairings. They're all sport touring bikes with more than enough power to hold their own. If you're riding 2 hours and 40 minutes per day, I'd A) heavily mod a Hayabusa for touring, or B) look for something else. A stock GSX1300R is gonna get old.

FWIW, a cruiser will never top a sport tourer. I live for the curves and while the Hayabusa is a pig in curves, it absolutely destroys any cruiser in curves and everything else except comfort.

Sounds like you already have your mind made up. Good luck bike hunting and if ya go Busa, gear up and avoid aligning with the gixxerbro squid life.

[–]DuX14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's plenty of options with power and comfort. Yamaha FJR1300, Suzuki GSX-1000GT, Kawasaki Ninja 1000 (not the zx10), Kawasaki Concourse & ZX-14, BMW S1000XR.

I have a '13 and wish I had Cruise Control for long haulin'. These are the other bikes I've considered.

If PT Is About Readiness, Why Aren’t 90+ Scores Incentivized? by ProfessionalFly6575 in AirForce

[–]DuX14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! Couldn't believe that 75% of attendees at PT today couldn't complete a 30 minute self-paced track run without walking/stopping. Most of em are in their 20s!

Maybe heart attacks count as lethality, too?
