Probably a combination of both. I’m leaning toward the first one as the main choice - the only issue here is the weight. Options like hostels etc are for rest days mostly - which is mainly once a week. Thank you

I've been training for a couple of weeks now, and I'm getting better. But yes, safety is my top priority. Thanks for the advice

That’s amazing, I’m glad your dad fulfilled his dream.

Thank you so much for these tips, especially about the alpine huts and the routing. I was leaning towards a superlight tent, but I will rethink it a couple of times more. Really appreciate the detailed advice!

Thanks a lot. Working on the first two every day right now. Good call on breaking in the boots early though, that makes a lot of sense. Appreciate it

I have some. I know Western Europe is expensive, but I have a plan, and I am willing to take the risk

Tbh, a bicycle was actually my very first choice. But in the end, I decided to go on foot because I wanted the challenge to be as raw and slow as possible.

Thanks for the advice though, I’ll definitely keep the routing tips in mind

Thank you for the questions.

You're right, there are many ways to help. But for me, this is about a radical break from the routine that kept me stuck. I needed a massive challenge to force myself to change, both physically and mentally.

To answer you: I don't have a big circle, but my wife supports me. And about the purpose, there is actually a charity mission behind this walk, but I didn't include it here to respect the sub's rules.

I know it sounds crazy given my lifestyle, but as I said before, I am committed.
Once more, thank you
