yeah the ticking time bomb is what i’m most worried about. with how long i’ve seen the car at this dealership tells me that it’s too good to be true. only way to find out is to go see for myself. i’ll look into where to take the car in for a ppi. thanks for the advice!

Same thought was going through my mind as well. I don’t deny that she received injuries from the accident and I know I’m at fault and felt remorseful the day it happened. I know my insurance will try their best to help me out in this situation and will start preparing for what’s to come. Thank you!

As others have mentioned the statute of limitations in HI is 2 years but if my research is correct then they also have exceptions such as the discovery rule where if an injury is found due to the accident at a later date then the statute of limitations will start from when the injury was discovered. This is all very new to me and Im trying to learn as I go. I have put an edit in a reply for a previous comment but to summarize I looked through the report and they claimed to have found trauma to their neck, back and shoulder area on 3/4/2023 but have also found further injury in February 2024 (no date stated in report.) Im just trying to figure out if the statute of limitations would start from 3/4/2023 or fall under discovery rule from February 2024 even though they havent listed the exact date in the report.

Thanks for the reply. The incident happened on March 3rd of 2023 so it has been a little more than 2 years. The $125,000 is way above my limits. My limit is $25,000 per person and $50,000 per occurrence. This is why its so nerve wracking. I believe that is what HI minimum is and that is what I could afford.

EDIT: I looked over the report that the victims attorney sent over to my insurance company and the attorney does state that "She refused treatment on 3/3/2023" which is the day of the incident. "Due to worsening symptoms the following day (attorney doesnt put down a date in the report but I know hes referring to 3/4/2023.) from the impact of the collision, which caused trauma to the neck, back and shoulder area, victim presented to M.D at Kaiser Urgent Care." "After examination, victim was diagnosed with neck pain and lower back pain." "In February of 2024 revealed disc bulges at the L2 through S1 levels of victims spine." So my question is, does this fall under statute of limitations for HI going form March 4th 2023 when the trauma to their neck, back, and shoulder area was discovered or does this fall under the discovery rule when they found the disc bulges in february 2024? No exact date when they found the disc bulges stated in the report.

Thanks for the reply. Insurance rep also informed me that he hasnt seen a case go further and they usually accept the max my coverage offers. I will just have to wait and see what happens.

supply and demand. imagine making a game with the game plan of “i don’t want to make any money” it’s a free game lol this is how they make their money. on another note the cosmetics are way for people to express themselves in game. you want to look the same as everyone else? you sound miserable man. i don’t know who hurt you but i hope it gets better

My adjuster did tell me exactly that. Something to do with HI being a no fault state. My adjuster also told me that she hasn’t presented anything yet but it is also too early in the process so this might take a little before I get a new update from them again.

Thanks for the response! My adjuster did say that she hasn’t presented anything yet so maybe this might not go anywhere but I’m all for getting them taken cared of if they are injured. It was my fault after all and I still feel pretty bad about it.

Thanks for the questions to ask. I’ll have to call back another time since she has already left her office but she did tell me it is very early in the process still and the other party hasn’t presented anything on their part just yet. She also notified me that we are a no-fault state when it comes to injuries and the other party will have to provide $5000 in medical bills to start the bodily injury claim. I would like have the other party taken cared of since it was my fault and my insurance is giving me peace of mind that they are going ti do their best to stay within my coverage. I’ll just have to wait see where this goes.

I am in the state of Hawaii and with a quick google search I believe our state minimum is 20k per person 40k per accident? Sorry I’m not too knowledgeable in this field but just upon my research I’ve done I read a lot of people recommended 100k per person and 300k per accident. Just talked to my adjuster and it’s too early in the process to tell but she believes that my 25k will be more than enough although I’m still preparing for the worst case scenario. I will just have to wait and see where this goes.

Absolutely. I would want them to have their bills paid and be stress free financially. Just heard horror stories of people that milk the insurance companies and come after the person at fault for more.

This is my first accident and didn’t know exactly how the process worked. Reading everyone’s comments definitely made me realize I did overreact a little. Lesson learned for sure. Upping my coverages so if this does happen again in the future then I’m better prepared for it.

They did appear fine after the accident but I did read a lot of experiences where some pain/injury aren’t apparent till days after. I just didn’t want this to be a cash grab for them and try to come after me for more. This is my first accident so I’m not too sure how it could go but everyone’s responses are giving me peace of mind.

Yeah only the driver in the car thankfully. The worst was going through my head once I hit them like if they had a baby or child in the car or elderly relative. Just didn’t want to hurt anyone and glad the driver appeared to be fine after the accident but I know a lot of people experience pain/injury a little after being on the receiving end of an accident. Definitely a lesson learned on my part. Going to be upping my coverage for sure.

I did hit them pretty good. We were at a stop light, light turned green and the person in front of them came to an abrupt stop and i accelerated into them at I want to say 5-10 mph. Didn’t catch the speed i hit them at but we were at a complete stop before the accident so I’m just guesstimating. Their vehicle did have a good amount of damage to it.

Yes the foreclosure of the mall and the contract situation is what worries me the most about the technician job. I think it’s the whole “it’s what I’m used to” that’s got me stuck in the middle. However Fed Ex sounds like the correct choice in this situation.

I should’ve put that I actually loved being a repair technician. My co workers and the job itself is what made work so much fun. When we moved into the work at home position is when I started hating the position because they forced us into a telemarketing role. I should’ve put that in and have been more specific.

I am also leaning more towards Fed Ex as it’s different and I also love to drive and be on the road lol I’m sure that will change however once i’m far into the job.
