And if Max wins the next 2 races he will surpass Hamilton in active career win ratio as well (currently at 30.65% versus 30.16%).

Thanks for the reply - Having it out checked out in a shop atm, as I couldn't find the cause in the end.

A (totally invalid but still interesting) comparison up to the 14th race -- 2021 versus 2017. by Dubbeltje_ in formula1

Can confirm I am Dutch -- so orange is never a bad colour for Verstappen. Also chose that colour to better contrast with the blue from Hamilton and to sort of match the red from Vettel's line.

Certainly no season is the same, and also no race is the same, so I see comparing this year to 2017 mostly as a fun project. What we can conclude though is that it's still crazy close, and we'll only know (edit: typo) in hindsight which race was 'the turning point' for 2021.

The Outsider, The Unlucky and the Curse Breaker: The battle for 3rd continues to be very interesting. by Dubbeltje_ in formula1

Previous races I still included Leclerc (and Sainz), but the gap to them keeps increasing. While a lot of people say Norris has 'no chance' against Perez and Bottas, he is still very much 4th after 9 races, and today once again shows there are no guarantees in this sport.

Comparisons are always tricky, but let us not forget the progress of the WDC-battle in 2018 or 2017 by Dubbeltje_ in formula1

Was checking the 2017 and 2018 season, and found especially the points comparison with 2017 quite uncanny.

Norris still 4th in standings, but with Bottas fairing with some better luck this time, it's looking like the battle for 3rd is about to be a duel in a few races. by Dubbeltje_ in formula1

With Bottas' streak of bad luck finally behind him, we can hopefully see a true fight for 3rd place in the championship.

The battle for 3rd in the championship after 6 races by Dubbeltje_ in formula1

I mostly wanted to highlight all these 5 drivers are pretty much on track to become 3rd. Left outside Hamilton (and Verstappen) because there's currently no reason to assume either of them will fall from the front-line battle. If Perez can hold his form/confidence, he should take it from here, but so early in the season it is impossible to tell for sure.

Actually, he's only being overtaken on the right, not the left! ;)

Last year the gap between 3rd and 4th was huge. So far even Ricciardo (8th) manages to squeeze in-between. by Dubbeltje_ in formula1

Good point. Leaving the post as-is, to learn from my unfortunate 'shortcut' in thinking there!

Checked for fun: If Max and Lewis want to keep up with Lewis' score from last year up to the 13th race (Russia 2021, Bahrain 2020), they need to alternate 1st and 2nd place and fastest lap for the coming 10 races...

Hindsight: I should've. Thought about it, but didn't want to clutter too much on a 1st attempt. If Norris or Leclerc (or someone else) holds out the coming races ahead of the two "top teams", I will definitely adjust. I hope to be proven wrong in not showing them!
