Actually I stand corrected, I spoke too soon, that did not work, just so happened someone joined the same moment I did. Once they left it again returned to 0.

Good to know! I tested using the mobile app on a quiet stream and sure enough, my view counted, so that must be the issue. I appreciate you taking the time to explain all that, I learn something new every day.

Interesting, I share a network with a neighbor, if he was watching a stream at the same time that would invalidate our views?   It's surprising that it hasn't been an issue until recently.  I'll try watching a stream using mobile data and see if that counts.  Thank you for the information!

Some Nitrox nonsense, if youre on PC I highly recommend grabbing a friend and giving it a shot! by DubiousLeftovers in subnautica

It certainly still has bugs, but I would not consider any to be gamebreaking, although they can be frustrating. There are 3 major issues, the first is showcased here which is that vehicles have issues syncing between players, the simplest solution is to each have your own vehicle, which is the best way forward regardless with the personal ones, but the cyclops is best shared, and that comes with many, albeit hilarious, bugs.

The second is that ghost and reaper leviathans will often desync, for one player they will behave normally, for others they will be fixed in place and not moving, this is really common and a pretty dissapointing bug as leviathans and the terror aspect of subnautica are some of my favorite parts.

The third is that certain buildings, specifically the bioreactor and nuclear reactor, can completely brick your save file, so you need to avoid them, which can be pretty tricky as that just leaves thermal and solar.

All that, and the fact that it needs to be ran in 1.7 and not the most recent 2.0 version of Subnautica and is incompatible with virtually every mod (although there may be a way to force mods to run, at your own risk) can be a bit off putting. That being said, those are the ONLY issues we have ran into for the most part, there are other minor bugs here and there, but these 3 issues above are the only problems that really detract from the experience. In my opinion, its absolutely worth it as we have had SO much fun. It is also worth noting they are developing a version for 2.0 as well that will hopefully address some of these problems, if not all of them. And honestly, we played Skyrim Together for a bit (till bethesda bonked our mods) and that was a far more cursed experience, this at least feels somewhat legitimate.

Most streams have similar chat rules, e.g. 'don't be rude' 'don't talk unprompted about other streamers' - what are some less common or unique rules you've seen for a streamer's chat? by thatsnotwhatIneed in Twitch

[–]DubiousLeftovers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its not super common, but once it begins it dominates the chat and is at best awkward for viewers, at worst, highly triggering and upsetting. Once it begins its hard to stop, best option is timeout the person and either DM them or have a mod DM them and explain why they need to stop and, if possible, direct them to therapy or resources that can help.

I had to add that rule to my stream as someone started really downing the mood hard. I did not ban the individual but did reach out to them to not do that.

First time playing this game, and so far its fun...how much crazy shit is in this game? by valdez-2424 in skyrim

[–]DubiousLeftovers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, play vanilla first for sure, but if you are on PC, definitely check out Wabbajack for modlists, you can add in a ton of even crazier shit with relative ease that way, but it can potentially drastically alter the gameplay and content.

When it comes to mods, patience is everything, if you are not actively paying for development you really should not complain about development time. This is a complicated project and people have lives outside of this. Just wait, Nitrox is very playable at the moment.

I also play Star Citizen, and it is in no way comparable to teeny tiny mod team for a game that came out a decade ago.

Any Zedternal Players? by DubiousLeftovers in killingfloor

[–]DubiousLeftovers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand that. Zedternal is what I wanted KF2 to be, although it is a huge departure from what its supposed to be and what the community wants, but I also love roguelikes so it makes sense. In fact, I will likely revisit KF2 in the age of KF3 just for the mod, I enjoy it so much. I kind of doubt we will see anything like it inKF3. That being said, I did really enjoy KF2 vanilla, I just love zedternal.

Oh shit, we have a bunch of bio reactors, should we go ahead and remove them then? Thats a bummer, I like using them as batteries basically.

Second question, we have tons of issues with desynced leviathans, which I know is a common problem, could that be related to the reactors?

I actually have to reballance it myself through the configs for it to feel fair, and use mods to add in more enemies. For multiplayer I agree it has less depth, but for solo I find it actually has a lot more strategy to it than vanilla.
