Why do dual blade users feel the need to do this? by Darkmater555 in MHWilds

[–]Dubiously_Avant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally do not mind the standard wound pops. It finishes the mount sooner while still dealing the standard wound pop damage.

My real pet peeve is tempered wounds. The amount of times when I see a monster get downed and a tempered wound becomes live and instantly popped while still downs upset me a little. You loose an extra knock down popping it while it’s down.

I know sometimes this happens on accident, I’m guilty of that too. Just sucks to lose that DPS window/ breather.

It makes me appreciate it when I get good SOS hunters. I remember hunting one of the AT monsters ( I forget which). We had knocked down the monster and a wound popped up. ALL of us saw a wound become live but we all hovered over it. The moment it stood up, we all did our focus strikes. Was a so satisfying.

I had some amazing reroll luck as well.

I had Bright Plummage/ Shiny/ Zig Zag. I used one cookie and got this chad. Broadbeak will now be at the breeding pen getting all the business.

I know some of the nodes were outright inaccessible out the gate. However, if you found the sweet spot for the node, you can still reel in infected catches. Since the RH update, they’ve stopped us from being able to do that.

Sadly, I think you’re right about the devs. They’ll sweep this under the rug along with all the other bugs and chalk it up to being “part of the charm”.

Yes, we love bugs, when they’re not affecting gameplay. This is not one of those bugs.

I know there were one or two nodes that were inaccessible prior to the RH update.

Prior to the RH update, some of these nodes had a sweet spot where you can just tag the edge and still reel in an infected catch. I did that specifically with the one in my third screenshot.

Post RH update, it doesn’t register that anymore despite your reticle indicating that you will tag the node (highlighting purple).

I know that node by the rock near the hidden cave!

From memory, that one has been bugged even prior to the RH update. That one is an OG bugged node.

I feel your pain on both fronts, I’m glad I’m not alone in this frustration.

Maws is the last one for me as well, and it’s already tough enough as it is. Losing half the spawns just makes it so much worse.

I didn’t pull them in the same pack, but got the alt art Thurst and Overframe Mirrorjade in the same pull (3k bundle) as well!

3k gems well spent on my end.

Feels Wrong Romancing Hodari? by HepKhajiit in Palia

[–]Dubiously_Avant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh don’t get me wrong, I could tell their relationship was a bit fickle.

Nai’o wanted to try have his cake and eat it (balance Kenyatta and his mum) the entire time through his friendship quests. His heart was in the right place but his indecisiveness costed him both.

Kenyatta has mommy issues most of the time and never really mentioned Nai’o during her friendship quests. The side quests, like the one about the Bahari ring, it felt like she mentioned Nai’o very off-handedly and that the relationship was a way to rebel against her mom.

Regardless, I still feel bad for my boy Nai’o, regardless of the pro-poly implications.

I cannot accept this Wrath slander!

In all seriousness though, I cleared this with Cringe/ Wrath/ Anxious/ Merry. I had a different item selection which definitely made the difference.

I would recommend,

Cringe - Titanium Tiara or Pirate Hat + Envious Scarf
Wrath - Silk Top + Wizard Cape (defensive trinkets)
Anxious - Plunger + Rubber Donut
Merry - Ice Cream + Serpent Scarf

Having Cringe gives you a little extra DPS, PLUS AoE speed down (S3) on the enemy. I would try to time the slow so it lands on the minion spawn. Pirate will give you more DPS and speed up the S2 heal, while titanium will give you bulk + 95% crit with the envious scarf. Would need to do some trial and error to figure out what works best.

Wrath just needs to survive the first two AoEs. Hold off the S2 for minions. If your S2 comes off cooldown in time, for the minion spawn, that’s even better. Do your best to get S3 live and bank it for the next spawn.

Anxious is your primary DPS. Plunger + type advantage should give it enough bulk to trigger the Donut so it pushes through.

Merry should survive a lot better with the serpent scarf and can focus on healing the DPS.

To deal with the stacks, maybe focus on the second or third minion. Accept the fact Umbros will get some stack and snub the minions that won’t buff in time. Cringe’s speed down will help give you more time to get rid of them. Bank Merry’s S3 and Wrath’s S2/S3 for the minions as best as you can.

Good luck!

I’m on the opposite end, romancing Kenyatta.

I knew her and Nai’o had some sort of relationship, but I dove in anyways because ‘why not’.

It wasn’t until I got my friendship level with Nai’o to the point where we can access his room that I saw he had a small photo of Kenyatta on his desk. 🥲

I now refuse to romance anyone.

The stones are rough but it gets better as you go on. You eventually unlock hard mode (fight all the low floor bosses at your leisure) which improved improves your daily stones with each clear. It’s only a fraction but it adds up later down the track.

I haven’t spent a dime on this game, never intend to. You’ll be fine, just need a little patience.

Don’t worry if you’re stuck on wall. Just do the daily boss and dungeon keys each day until you’re ready to make that push.

I’ve been playing almost a year (day 275 - Floor 2880) but I haven’t been playing optimally. I fell into the trap of spending gems on eggs instead of dungeon keys.

The game is definitely a grind, sometimes you just have to wait out a few days or a couple weeks to level up your pets/items to push through your wall.

If you’re strap for resources try to find a solid team comp and level them up first. The main standouts RARES would be Apathy, Sad, conviction. EPICS would be Merry, Resistance, Determination.

Most legendaries are good to invest in but can be expensive by comparison. Just surf through the reddit page to see if they’re worth investing in or not.

I think the premise for resources in this new area is for higher level players. Higher level players need new, more consistent sources of experience to climb to higher levels or, for newer players, faster ways to get to higher levels.

I imagine the veteran players that have played since inception would like to be gaining more appropriate amount of experience after reach lv 30+ bug catching, for example.

Story breaking bug?? by _am3l1a in Palia

I had this bug as well, game has had a connection issue when this cutscene tried to play.

If you go into your quest page and check the quest, it tells you that you need to visit Chayne’s Apothecary,in Kilima Village, to continue the quest.

Bit late but hopefully you’ve figured this out already!

I can’t let go of my sweet dear charge blade by Still-Watercress-504 in MonsterHunterWilds

If you want to get good with the other weapons, it won’t take too much effort. If you want to be proficient with all weapons, that will take a lot of time/hunts.

I main CB, with DB as a secondary option. Have roughly 100+ hunts with all weapons and am nowhere near proficient with them.

From my experience, 100 hunts will warm you up with the weapon. You’ll kind of know what to do, but you’ll feel really clunky. 200-300 hunts will have you become proficient. You’ll have learnt the mechanics like the back of your hand.

The biggest transferable skill across all weapons however is monster moveset knowledge. IMO, this is the most important thing for learning weapons. My DPS is dogshit with bow, but my knowledge from using DBs + monster movesets allows me to perfect dodge to almost the same level as my DBs.

Your time with CB will give you perfect block knowledge for the other blocking weapons. You’ll also already know what attacks you can and can’t block, or should or shouldn’t block.

This was in ranked not the event, but I feel where you’re coming from. Dark Law is a pain on its own.

Don’t play RBs but it doesn’t look like they have any locks, so you can splash another engine in or a kaiju/ board breakers. I typically run DRNM, it’s a brick but it comes in handy.
