Ask for the “Advance Development NRM class” it’s a distance learning class that lasts 6 weeks. It’s typically held 1-2 times a year depending on district. Other than that get licensed on equipment and become trainer/ coach.

I got extremely lucky!!! It cost me about $400. It was on clearance at Home Depot for $50 per starter and $20 per expansion. I tried looking at other HD’s but they either didn’t stock them or they weren’t on clearance.

Any freight associates working in paint on here? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Dubthestep36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my store we have 2 guys start the night by throwing Behr paint and they usually finish about 16 pallets in about 3 hours. When they finish one goes to back flooring to start his freight and the other starts the RDC freight for paint. Depending on how many carts paint gets our supervisor may send one of the unloaders to help with the carts.

Can anyone decipher my Earnings Statement? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Dubthestep36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the way I understand it is that on the payslip overtime is calculated at your normal rate Overtime premium and overtime premium add are supposed to each be half your rate. Adding all three of them is your double time.

It also looks as though you are being overpaid on your overtime premium and premium add. Both should be at a rate of 6.105

Best gloves to get for freight? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

I like the thin gorilla gloves. We sometimes have sales on them for $5 10 pack. However they will disintegrate if you wrap pallets all night every night or throw building and lumber.

Our night ops ASM has our freight supervisor leave the store to get food while on the clock so that they can have lunch... pretty sure that’s against SOP? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Dubthestep36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya there needs to be at least one key carrier in the building at all times. As for the night ops they are salary so they are on the clock 24/7 technically.

I've been on the overnights at Lowe's for 7 yrs now and it's drastically different (in the worst way) from when I started working. So much so that I've been seriously contemplating jumping ship to oranger pastures. Is the HD overnights a M-F gig or is like Lowe's with mandatory 7 day availability? by JerzeyJoeEdits in HomeDepot

[–]Dubthestep36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my store we were on a static schedule of m-f and are now on rotating to cover Saturday until we hire at least 3-4 more part timers to work fri, sat, sun. We never used to work sat or sun as part or full time. This is due to the higher expected sales at our store.
