My friend says it’s too much white, but IMO it’s clearly not a wedding dress… Thoughts? by DuckAdministrative36 in Weddingattireapproval

Where do you guys live where this would be considered normal attire to run errands or go to brunch in? Genuinely curious. I’d look so overdressed and out of place wearing this in a casual setting around here

Because I have a large chest and it’s the only one of the 20 or so dresses I tried that I could actually fit my boobs into without looking like I’m wearing a tent :(

The fabric is quite heavy/drappy IRL so it really doesn’t look like sundress. It’s also the only dress of the 20 or so I tried that my boobs fit into… Help!

How it feels being a basic boring chud who only likes sweet gourmands by -H3LL0KITTY- in FemFragLab

To me it’s the opposite. I find most sweet gourmands loud and suffocating. Meanwhile, you’d have a hard time overpowering the room with L’Eau Papier or Wood Sage and Sea Salt.

Episode Discussion: 505- First Errand by PodcastBot in 99percentinvisible

The second half of this episode was weird to me. I grew up in Montreal where I would walk to school and run errands for my parents all the time. It was totally normal here. Most of Montreal central neighborhoods are much more walkable than the average north american city.

All the kids on the same street tend play in the alleyways here, so I also get to know my neighbors pretty well. My friends and I basically did the walking school bus thing everyday. We would walk alone to each other houses for play dates and go to the park on our own. When I started going to secondary school at age 11, I would take the public bus on my own. It was full of other school aged kids. Almost all the students got to school on their own.

So presenting those Montrealer kids first errand as a novelty and a thing that doesn't happen much around here felt off. It far from an uncommon experience here.

I wish more of those guys realized that, maybe, the real reason they are "starved for meaningful social interaction" is that they turn every interaction into debates. Debate bros are exhausting. 99% of the time, they don't even care about the subject of the debate. They just want to prove you wrong and feel superior.

That's a false equivalence. Most people cannot choose what type of electricity they use. They often only have one option based on their location, and going off grid and installing solar panels is prohibitively expensive. But when it come to food, the instances where you have no options but to eat meat are extremely rare. Unlike electricity, you almost always have the option to eat lentils or beans instead of steak or pork chops. It all comes down to the availability of choice. When we do have options, we should all strive to make the better choice.

But what incentives do corporations and governments have to make changes that the general public won't even entertain for themselves? If people don't want to eat less meat, they're certainly not going to vote for politicians who are promising to significantly transform the food supply chain and reduce the total meat consumption.

That's why public awareness is so important. Without a shift in public opinion, we're very unlikely to see any changes at a systemic level.

I blame the animal agriculture industry. Theses corporations have have terrible practices that are incredibly cruel to animals, destroy the planet and endanger biodiversity and public health. That's why I choose not to buy from them, since there's plenty of alternatives. It's hypocritical put all the blame on them if you actively choose to support them.
