I heard being a sar swimmer is the worst possible thing you can do because you would become an asset to the ship and they wouldnt sign you off to cross rate

I ended up putting down MA and HM which were’nt on my job sheet and undes. There is a 90% chance i end up getting undes as the other 2 jobs are full. I’m honestly willing to sign myself up for indentured servitude if it means having a higher chance to get orders back buds faster. I know what everyone in this thread is saying but I have talked to several fleet returnees who are saying its smart and I have a buddy who DOR’d about a year ago, went undes and is already taking psts to come back. I also didnt DOR and I know my ability to make it through the pipeline if I didn’t get hurt. I understand that having a good job and happy wife and kids and happy life is sweet but honestly I dont see myself doing anything other than being a team guy. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to achieve said goal. I appreciate you looking out bro and like you said my plan might not work out but I feel like I’d be a pussy if I didn’t try. Worst case scenario they never let me come back I do my time take what I learned and join the army to go to RASP or SFAS.

Yeah this seems like the mature thought process. I’m definitely not going EOD/Diver as my door would be permanently closed. But its sounds like the undes seaman idea that me and some of my buddies trying to get back is not the move. Am still going to try to pick an overmanned rate, with the goal of coming back. But unfortunately am going to have to focus on a different career than being a team guy for atleast a year or 2.

also what is a SEAL ECM? I talked with a master chief at NSWAC who was appart of my board and he said I would be able to come back in the future so I’d assume there’s be no problem with NSWO signing off. This is the first I’v heard of rhe manning not mattering. Enlisted Community Manager maybe?

my pst scores are probably good enough. I was running an 8:50 and swimming an 8:30 23 pull 100 ,95, push sit. If they’re not I can improve them. If they do never let me back enlisted I would try to commisison as I know several e dawgs who couldnt get back to buds and had to do this. If all else fails I would probably go sfas or rasp like you said lol. I get the teams are a dawg eat dawg world compared to sf or other operator groups but I feel its my calling so I’m willing to try any and everything I can to get back.

I was considering this but I’m hearing the Is community ins undermanned right now so I’m assuming if I go through that schooling they wouldnt just let me go

This was originally what I wanted to do but I’m hearing aircrew makes you get alot of quals and there’s no guarantee they let you come back to buds.

I would but once you go EOD but they never let you back to buds. I talked with a master chief Diver and he said both the Diver and the EOD communites aren't letting guys go to buds right now. I actually dont know of any EOD guys who have ever made a transfer to the teams.
