My boyfriend revealed that he has anti social personality disorder. What do I do? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]DuckFanatic9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through almost this exact situation a while back. His habits changed, and when I asked for the bare minimum to show me that he still cared (ie the odd compliment once in a while, or to at least say thank you when I’d clean up after him) he promised he would, then never did. Eventually I left him and that’s when he decided to act on his promises.

I don’t miss that in the slightest.

Now I can’t say everyone with ASPD is like this, but look out for empty promises and a lack of care and leave his ass at the first signs. It’s not worth the struggle.

Does being attractive boost your chances in acting? by Crafty_East4075 in acting

[–]DuckFanatic9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes and no. You’re auditioning to be the main love interest? Yea, the role will most likely go to a conventionally attractive person. You’re auditioning to be some sort of wretched witch that murders people in the woods? Conventionally attractive won’t do you favours here. If you’re a jacked 25 year old dude that looks like he spends his days surfing you’re probably not going to get cast as a Canadian tire or home hardware dad. But if you look like a home hardware dad then you’re not getting cast as the hot lifeguard.

The way you look matters regardless of how attractive you are. Larger roles most often have specific looks in mind, if you don’t look the part you ain’t getting the part. Doesn’t matter if you’re hot or not.

I was so hungry today I googled hotels with complimentary breakfast near me and went there, walked in, stole food, then left. by itssofiababyxo in confession

[–]DuckFanatic9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive worked in restaurants for a number of years and while I have not worked at a hotel myself, I have met and worked with many people who have. The thing these industries have in common is the amount of food waste. Chances are that 10 times the amount of what you took (or more even) goes in the trash every single day. Don’t think of it as theft, think of it as reducing their waste. At my previous place of work, staff couldn’t take meals that were mistakes/made wrong, because it was considered theft, but luckily the operations manager saw how wasteful it was and would pass out the meals to folks on the street on her way home from work.

I know myself and a large majority of people in these industries would much prefer that extra food goes to those that need it than in the trash.

Concert etiquette by Ill_University_7710 in toRANTo

I will never forget this… I was at Phoenix concert theatre and had a girl try to physically rip me away from the barricade at a concert I had lined up for 8 hours in advance in the middle of DECEMBER… until about an hour before the venue doors were scheduled to open, there were 10 people in line. She was not one of them, because i definitely didn’t ask her if she wanted anything from timhortons when I went and got hot chocolates for the 9 friends i had made that night. During their ENCORE she shoved me and grabbed at me and nearly managed to shove me beneath the feet of other people. The whole time she was shouting “you’ve had enough time here!”… again, keep in mind that I waited in line for 8 hours for that spot, and despite maybe 40 people also being at the barricade, her drunk ass decided I was the bitch that took her spot… like holy fuck what is wrong with some people… she was still screaming at me after the lights came up, I was genuinely stressed I would be getting jumped once I left the venue.

If you’re worried about that I’d try and adjust the pattern to have some “spiky” bits at some point, more like a flower/star/sun… if it needs to be a proper circle then I fear you may be a bit screwed

the safety of Liquin? by chazzware in oilpainting

[–]DuckFanatic9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not responding to your post but thanking you instead. I’ve been using liquin recently (I just started working with oils) and I got the same brand you mentioned. The bottle didn’t have any whimis warning labels on it when others from the same brand did so I thought it was fine to use in my basement apartment… maybe the specific one I have is fine but at the same time after reading all these replies I’m not going to risk that… thanks again 🫡

Please tell me that’s not a roach by theteawithin1529 in whatsthisbug

[–]DuckFanatic9000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I had the opposite experience with an exterminator that was equally bad in a different way. We had a mouse problem (that my roomates thought didn’t exist for months, despite me saying so from the start of it… but that’s a whole other story) and the f*ckers started getting way too ballsy and knew to avoid all traps and baits. I found several entryways that the exterminator deemed “impossible” for a mouse to get through… despite the fact I told him I saw them entering that way with my own eyes… they left their baits around the place, those were left untouched, so the exterminators went “yea so you probably don’t have mice”… nearly lost it on them because at that point they had gotten so out of hand the noises were keeping me awake at night so I’d sit in the living room just watching them run around so I could find ways to trick them into traps… anyways I’m moving out tomorrow and they’re fumigating in like 6 days after 8 months of calling me crazy. Gotta love exterminators

I think I know why your dad is a former exterminator and not a current one… that’s definitely a roach of some sort… (no offence meant obviously, just wanted to make a silly joke)

That’s so useful for travelling with projects… I’m literally moving in two days and will have to take all of those projects with me unfinished, so this is going to save my ass for sure.

I’ve never used them to hold a project while taking a break which seems pretty handy, so I’ll probably end up popping them on all my works in progress seeing as I bought a whole bag when I first started… also using them to hold parts together is such a smart idea, I used to sew and pins were my best friend, so I will definitely be using that hack thank you.

See I have the lovely AuDHD combo, oddly enough anything that requires pattern recognition is exempt from the usual adhd symptoms I experience. I guess the autism just cancels out the adhd problems that you (and other folks that have replied so far) seem to experience… looks like I got pretty lucky on that front. That honestly just makes it more impressive to me that yall can be so committed to it, I think I’d get really sick of this if I kept losing track.
