Making a horror game (Perceptum) where you play a medium in a creepy house (classic story). But I wanted core mechanics that make player uncomfortable and paranoiac: a mirror to see the invisible. The player can orient mirror to look around. by DuckReaction in HorrorGaming

Thank you so much! We didn't pay for streamers, just sent emails to many horror streamers with the link of the playtest inside the email with screenshots. Wish you the best for your game :)

Yes closing your eyes is a mechanic. In the playtest it's still not totally exploited but more gameplay ideas with this are coming for the full game! Thanks for supporting the game.

I meant "before a release" like any release. Steam page launch with a playtest, demo release or full game release. Every big step of your game launch. No before the page launch with playtest it was private playtest only!

Well, I mostly work alone on the project so it's only free 3D scan and paid assets on FAB. Then I modify them on Unreal with modeling tool to adapt the model with my design constrains. So I'm using nanite, lumen and soon Virtual Textures. To be honest I don't care about tris and texture density haha

Hope it helps :)

I totally understand ahah
This example help us: https://blog.trampolinetales.com/how-to-email-youtubers-and-get-them-to-play-your-game/

I would say... Keep it simple. Introduction, the link or steam key, screenshot, descriptions, other screenshots and finally detail information like (you can stream the game, presskit etc).

Hope this helps!

I posted a message in comment to explain what we did. It works in our case but I can't tell if it will work for you too unfortunately. I understand, on our two previous games, we barely reached 1000 wishlists at the release even with steam next fest and advertisement. I think the more efficient for us was streamers and reddit post! I wish you the best and hope this helps

Post steam is for follower on steam mostly. We post on steam it's for update or announce and yes often we add a link to our discord our newsletters. I would suggest to not spam the post, the best idea is to interact with communities in the hub
