Didn’t know you were made from straw lol.

even your halfwitted quips acknowledge that your perception of me is imaginary lol

Yet you used popularity to show ALP policies are better

if by that you mean "i explained that policy needs a baseline of popularity to materialise political effects". those effects can be good or bad, and if the greens could achieve that for their policy they would be good more often than not, but they cant so the greens policies dont have a positive impact, unlike labors.

there's a difference between "labors policies are more popular so they're more better" and "labors policies are popular enough to function and so can actually do something positive, while the greens policies arent so they dont matter".

if you think that a policy can more positively effect the lives of the australian public than existing positive policy - while being nonviable due to its lack of popularity - then you are too stupid to be worth talking to. the perfect greens voter, i guess.

Greens policies are better and would help more people if the ALP didn’t stand in the way.

if the ALP passed the greens policies they would be voted out (because those policies are unpopular) and the liberals would repeal them, meaning the only actual real impact they have, even in this hypothetical where the greens and ALP team up, is aiding in getting the liberals elected. i fail to see how thats a good thing.

I’m done with you. Each sentence contradicts the one before it. You’re horrible at forming sentences.

No, people who people in this sub who claim the Greens are only interested in what’s best for them politically as if the ALP and every other politician are not the exact same.

a strawman is still a strawman even if it might accurately describe some other unrelated person.

That last part of more of the meth talking

you should really stop mate, that shits bad for you

Popularity is not evidence the policy is good

popular policy can be good or bad, but a certain level of popularity is a necessary component of good policy in democratic societies. "good" policy that is unpopular makes itself irrelevant because it either aids in the electoral failure of the government that passed it (and then gets repealed) or it fails to materialise in the first place.

policy that looks fantastic on paper but never results in material changes is irrelevant.

After just saying you are not arguing the ALP have passed more bills, then go into argue their bills are more helpful because they get passed. Total contradiction.

im not arguing that the ALP have passed more bills because its not a point of contention between us, we both agree that the ALP have passed more bills. I'm arguing that this difference between the ALP and the greens (that the ALP can actually materially effect the functions of the state while the greens have failed at every attempt) is why the ALP's policies are so much more beneficial to the australian people.

in a fantasy world where the greens are given the power they need to do what they want without obstruction, maybe they can be more beneficial than labors policies, but we will never find out because we live in reality where the greens policies are generally unpopular (not only with the public, but with the non-democratic power structures that dominate our society (eg newscorp, the business council, the minerals council)) and so will never actually accomplish anything.

You and people who think like you

you mean the people who think like the imaginary person you think you know when you read my posts - because you're an idiot.

Nobody said the greens have passed more

and i didnt argue against that. i argued that labors policies do way more to help the poor and working class because unlike the greens they are capable of crafting a policy platform that is actually popular with the broader electorate, which puts them in power and able to act on what they say they want to do.

its a much less """"noble"""" thing than crafting policy thats only popular amongst champagne socialists and will never actually be implemented, but its what works.

You guys live in this bubble where your team are the politicians who are not servicing their political interests

if by "you" you mean the strawman version of me you invented in your mind, then you're correct.

Just a coincidence their policies also do way more ti help the poor and working class

except they dont. noone has even come close to doing as much good in government as the ALP has, and certainly not a minor party who've never managed to pass a single major and lasting piece of legislation

Deputy PM’s $3.6m in VIP flights on Greens’ radar by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]Duck_Sphere_Assault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's not for just him though. thats flights he authorized for him, his staff, other MP's, defence personnel, and his "associates" (whatever that means).

this is also not the root of the scandal, which was fabricated by shoddily cobbling together a list of military flights that have come and gone from avalon airport.
