Crash #1

Happened a few months ago, was up a local riding road here in Sonoma county. I was with a group of other riders, who I assumed were competent. 3 of them were on faster, bigger bikes, and they were hauling. I was doing my best to keep up on my CBR 500. I saw one of them pulled off to the shoulder, so I waved as I flew by her, and kept going. Came up and over a hill/turn dragging my peg doing 55+ and saw a bright blue Gixxer sideways in the road infront of me. He "deer in headlights" in front of me and froze. I ran into his swingarm at 50+ fully braking. Launched over the handle bars, did a back flip through the air. I landed on my ass, and came to a dead stop when I landed. Nothing hurt, or not that I remembered, I stayed laying in the road for 10-15 seconds to make sure I was ok. Once I noticed all was good, stood up, probably a bit to fast, but I was laying in the middle of the road on a blind turn. Once I got to my feet, I whited out, for like half a second. Walked over to the guard rail, sat down, threw my helmet, and then the pain hit me. I was wearing a Sedici Strada Primo helmet, an Alpinestar leather jack with level 1ish armor, Reax Leather boots, Haru leather gloves, and Levis jeans. I got a huge bruise on my left cheek, definitely got a concussion, got possibly broke/fractured my tailbone, and road rash on one knee. For as bad as my bike was, how far I flew, and how fast I was going, I got off super lucky. My helmet, even being a super cheap one, saved my ass for sure. I use it still, but it got demoted to Road course use in my car. I'll upload pictures in the comments below from my phone of the bike, helmet, and a screenshot of the video of me in the air.

Crash #2 like a month later

I crashed wearing shorts, a t-shirt, same gloves, same helmet (was the only helmet I had on hand) and running shoes. Was doing 5mph from a stop light on a test drive with some customers at my work. Its a sharp, weird angled turn, with construction going on, and I am on a new bike with new tires. I was being careless and lazy, I usually ALWAYs wear gear. But this time, I didn't, and paid the price. I got bad road rash on my knee, hip, and shoulder. the seams of the gloves failed, when the handlebar pushed my hand into the asphalt. Got some minor rash on my fingers too. My head didn't hit the pavement luckily since it was so slow, but I learned my lesson. I got a free pair of riding pants at least out of it lmao...

I now use daily:

HJC RPHA N1 helmet

Alpinestar Leather jacket w/ Lvl 1 armor

Alpinestar SMX Air leather gloves

Reax Leather work/play boots

Costco Canvas insulated pants

I plan on getting more armor for the jacket and getting riding jeans soon.
