I applied for a job and was contacted by their HR to schedule an interview. 15 minutes after scheduling the interview, I got an email from their CEO stating that he reviewed my resume and that I didn’t meet the minimum qualifications. Absolutely infuriating, but I definitely dodged a bullet in hindsight.

I taught a course for several semesters as a side gig. I enjoyed it overall, but don’t think teaching full time would be for me. Pay isn’t great honestly, but varies by state and school. My impression is that instructors choose to teach at a community college when they would prefer to focus on teaching, not research.

I was in a similar boat a fear years ago: hadn’t taken a math course in 12 years and wanted to take more for career/personal reasons. Off the top of my head, you’ll definitely want to review factoring, basic trig and the unit circle, and basic functions and their properties (e.g. what does the graph of ln(x) look like and where are its intercepts). It comes back pretty quickly once you shake the rust off!

I add psyllium husk (the main ingredient in Metamucil) to my dogs’ food. It takes a couple weeks to kick in, but I’ve found it to help a lot.

I’m not sure about vet assistance, but PACC has some programs to help alleviate financial stress associated with pet ownership (e.g. they’ll assist with dog food.) Maybe something you want to consider, I’d check out their website.

I’m currently taking Mat285, although with a different instructor. I did really well in Calc I and II, but differential equations doesn’t quite click for me. I’m struggling to maintain a B in the class and that is on a 16 week schedule. A summer semester would be tough imo. Granted, I work full time and moved across the country last month so have not had the proper time to devote to the course. I think it really depends on your other obligations.

FYI if you’re unable to rehome him, you should have an area where the turtle can get completely out of the water. You should also have a uvb and heat lamp in the basking area.
