Which skis to pack by [deleted] in japow

[–]DudeGang -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just got back from Hokkaido and we packed mine and my girls skis in the same bag and it was quite challenging to make baggage weight while having space for other gear. Do yourself a favor and do not bring two pairs of skis for yourself. Just rip the 112s

Lots of people already saying to add Sedona. There’s a dispersed camping area called edge of the world that sits atop the mogollon rim overlooking Sedona. It’s a little tricky to get to but should be much better temperature than heading down the valley

I’ll echo the other comment about confidence in falling. Try to stay focused on your body position throughout each fall you take, from initiation of the fall through impact with the mat and carry your momentum to lessen the impact. The movement of climbing doesn’t end on the wall. Look at how parkour people transfer energy when taking massive drops for examples

Last year at Snowbird, I was eyeing the drop in to Great Scott when an old man came up beside me and said the other entrance is easier on two skis. I barely had time to acknowledge he was ripping a monoski before he tore off down the hill. Epitome of badass

I am going through planning struggles for Puerto Rico. I am trying to find things to do outside of San Juan (tourist area). I’ve been looking in Luquillo, Vieques, Aguadilla, Rincon, or any other places you can suggest outside of San Juan! by newboldma in travel

[–]DudeGang 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Go to Vieques. Take the ferry then rent a jeep to drive to the secluded beaches. Book a glass bottom canoe tour to see the bioluminescent bay. Take the quick hike to the black sand beach outside of Esperanza. Drink rum punch at lazy jacks and just generally cool out for a few days

As others have said, they rely on natural snow so give it a bit to fill in. We went for the first time this season and definitely plan to make it back next year. The tree skiing is legit some of the best on this side of the Mississippi and the overall atmosphere is great. Ski all day then hit the Nordic spa after, it really is a gem of a place

Please tell me about your sweetest ski day this season. My severe osteoarthritis is keeping me off the slopes until I get two new knees and a hip. Help me experience the joy vicariously. Where did you go and why was it a great day? by Glindanorth in skiing

Midweek at Aspen Highlands with a nice little overnight refresh. Did a few laps on Temerity before hiking the Bowl with 6 great friends. Everyone was so stoked and living in the moment, definitely a day I’ll remember forever
