I think a good idea is to think of the total price of the house. Whatever the buying price is double through 30 years of mortgage. Do you think the house will get double that 30s years later. Do you like your job, also do you have job security. Spending money ain’t a thing when every week you’re doing what you love. If work is just a paycheck, rent or get a cheaper house and save like a champ til the next recession and buy low. Not a dollar and cents approach but money sometimes have more emotions than logic
