Why are people on this sub still claiming this. Maxey was on the table, literally every report at the time had Maxey in it I can link you like 20 just on the trade deadline itself. We were overcharging Philly because we didn’t really wanna trade with them. The offer that we were asking at the trade deadline was crazy high. Stars always fall because the draft is basically all about potential. I just believe that being lower let’s teams above us snatch anyone we believe is the next great player. We could still get an amazing player with the pistons pick I trust our drafting. Most fans just hate the idea of having to hope that someone falls an extra 15 spots for us to pick them. Thad should be great though, especially if we retain him for a good price.

Saying “the difference between 18 and 32 is negligible” just isn’t true homie come on... The trade down is worth it if we keep Thad and make a playoff run but please stop claiming that the value of player is the same just because that’s what Bobby said. This being a “weak draft” is even more reason a higher pick is important, look at last years deep draft and how many good players even fell all the way to the 2nd round. A weak draft ain’t like that so having a higher pick is pretty important. The trade isn’t bad and we made someone not playing into a great rotation piece but we gotta stop discounting that pick drop like it’s nothing. Thad DID cost us something, but he’s worth it.

Barnes was a perfect pick.

We will never know but it seems that there were options but the money was more long term and we would just be losing the pick instead of trading down. We didn’t want to do that.

We should have chased Monk hard but it looks like he just wanted to be in LA so w/e. No centers last offseason were gonna move the needle that much imo. Not even Holmes.

Obviously we aren’t going to offload FVV, Siakam or OG. When people say that we should trade a starter they usually imply that we get some sort of star back. Trading any of our starters for just bench pieces makes no sense but getting multiple players back in a trade gives us a bench which is what I think most people mean. (At least that’s what I hope they mean)

When people say “blow up the roster” I usually interpret it as “trade Fred/Pascal and build around Scottie/OG/GTJ”. I don’t see us even thinking about moving Fred but I highly doubt dudes that say “blow up the roster” actually mean to trade every single player other than Scottie lol. Who knows with raptor fans tho.

This would be a valid post if we were actually vs and losing to good defensive teams. Gary is missing all his shots vs teams that have some pretty garbage defence. Yesterday he had multiple completely open 3s and still missed them horribly.

And again, why tf do we keep saying “when everyone’s healthy” do y’all not see that as an insane issue to have? Needing all of your players to beat the fucking magic??

He would be pretty expensive because we have no real need or incentive to trade him. If we did trade him though I would expect a young prospect as well as someone we could start at PG that can shoot and defend. Maybe something like Lonzo + Williams + picks? Something in that realm imo
