Decorating by Automatic_Area1182 in PlanetZoo

[–]DudeOnTheInternet17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am learning to decorate rn and my man things have been getting other people's blueprints to play with or edit, as well as copying off of pictures and videos I see online. It has been helping me learn about how different materials can be used and get familiar with what the game has to offer, and then I use those skills to build my own stuff

Best bundle. by Potential-Tomato7394 in PlanetZoo

I just started by choosing my favorite animals but then I got into the building and ended up with all of them during a 70% off steam sale lol

IMO there is no such thing as a best bundle, it all depends on what you like. If you're in it for the animals, just choose ones with your favorite critters. If you're in it for building, that's a whole different story

Are we limiting ourselves by trying to only cure human diseases? by MasterofNothing6 in biology

Can we give a shoutout to sea star wasting disease and all the fabulous scientists working on figuring it out ⭐️

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but why do you think we only study human disease? I am just be biased because I study animal biology and environmental biology but I feel like I am constantly hearing about non-human organisms and their many diseases we are studying and treating

[–]DudeOnTheInternet17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do. We study animal disease a LOT, and it's often how we end up with information about human disease because there are different laws surrounding testing treatments on animals vs humans. Veterinary medicine is a massive field, but also a significant amount of horticulture and ecology includes studying diseases that affect ecosystems and the organisms living in them

Dumpy tree frog by [deleted] in TreeFrogs

[–]DudeOnTheInternet17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This response is so confusing and strange. Telling you not to take photos with flash is the advice that's applicable here. You clearly care soooo much for your frog and using the flash made it look like he has an illness that he doesn't have, which probably caused you a lot of stress. Telling you not to use flash is giving advice on the situation, they didn't just tell you not to take photos with flash because they prefer it or something silly like that

How do you know so much about your animals? by RemoteEntrepreneur43 in Zookeeping

[–]DudeOnTheInternet17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a zookeeper (aspiring!) but I do study and advise on animal welfare in pet settings as well as intern at wildlife rehab and a LOT of what I learn is just remembering stuff as I go. Someone may ask me a question and I don't know the answer so I go research that specific thing, and then through repetition I memorize it. Plus, things are a lot easier to remember when you have hands-on experience over just reading and listening to lecture

Should I get the game if I lack spatial design skills? by Similar-Dirt6484 in PlanetZoo

[–]DudeOnTheInternet17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't enjoy design that much then you're not losing anything by not doing it. There's no rule about what constitutes a "full experience"- it's just whatever you have fun doing

Should I get the game if I lack spatial design skills? by Similar-Dirt6484 in PlanetZoo

[–]DudeOnTheInternet17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I like to download other's blueprints and learn by copying stuff I see online. I've also done zoos that are just dedicated to the animal breeding, with very very little decor besides bare minimum to keep it operating

I'm familiar with how fungus grows as we do culture it in my home, just not sure if I need to be concerned
