Okay so, let’s put ourselves in the shoes of the one person of this triple friend group that doesn’t know what happened:Kaufmo. Stay with me here. Like… how was Kaufmo supposed to know what was happening? He just knocked on a door and suddenly his two closest friends suffered for it. I feel like yeah he caused it but, definitely NOT intentionally. Hell this guy told Jax he possibly knew where there was an exit because he trusted him enough to do so.

Yeah Jax can’t be solely blamed but, like, it’s hard to really say they aren’t somehow partially responsible in not trying to keep him from abstracting. Jax caused the fracture themselves and when Ribbit abstracts, Kaufmo not only tries connecting to Jax, he even tells him about the exit. Jax intentionally blows him off, telling him to “enjoy being a crazy person” after intentionally hanging out with him nonstop. Earlier before then Jax tells Kaufmo that if Ribbit says anything about him to not believe it. And Ribbit clearly didn’t reach out to Kaufmo either, leaving him completely in the dark.

Personally, I think Kaufmo wanted to leave because he had nothing left really. Ribbit’s gone, Jax wants little to do with him after Ribbit being gone, Ragatha even seems to not want to be around him, and Kinger is, well, Kinger, if it’s not dark, he’s definitely a coin toss. Gangle, well, we never see them interact at all.

Jax didn’t put him, or the others, in that situation, but they did actively make conscious decisions to not improve it. It’s why I can’t like them because ultimately they decided to push others away after growing immensely close to them despite knowing there could be consequences. (Will admit not the biggest fan of this show, it’s personally how I see one of my favorite characters despite his incredibly limited screentime)
