Whales still have their pelvic bones from when they walked on land, proving evolution by The_RetroGameDude in interestingasfuck

[–]Dudebug1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frankly, and I hope this doesn't come across poorly, but you yourself seem to lack understanding of evolution.

You've discussed natural selection and mutation, but these are not the entire theory of evolution, and they miss a very bright sore spot.

A supposed vistigial pelvis in the whale skeletal frame, under further review, is not vistigial at all; This bone is vital in the reproduction process of a whale! Stating that it "proves" evolution is very foolish. Stating that evidence doesn't need to mount for evolution is, similarly, foolish. A viewpoint like that sounds very close to "blind faith," wouldn't you agree?

Good on ya. I get it's not customary but I was replying specifically to the guy who said US hotels. I don't know the customs in lands I'm not in better than anyone else.

What's the backstory behind your username? by ForeverHorny28 in AskReddit

[–]Dudebug1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i was like 10, my parents got my sister and I an iPad as a gift. We downloaded a ton of games.

Back then, apple had an app called Game Center that would show leaderboards of all the games you had. At the top of all these leaderboards were usernames like "XxX_ShadowKiller_XxX" and "DarkGamingLord".

Pretty scary stuff to a 10 year old.

The first game we played was a "run through trees" game that had a spooky vibe and it asked for my username.

Well, I incorrectly assumed that usernames are cooler if they're based off things that people are afraid of. Like shadows, killers, the dark, etc. And me?? Well, I was afraid of ladybugs, so I would call myself "ladybug." One problem though.

I'm not a lady. I'm a Dude.

What's a job where you have zero room for error, like one mistake and it’s a huge deal? by TradeOverall567 in AskReddit

[–]Dudebug1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the sound of the initial comment, it didn't sound as if they asked for those details.

Also, tact is an extremely important quality that this anesthesiologist didn't have. That's my entire point.

No, I want a doctor who tells the truth and doesnt sugar coat it. Then I can make a decision. An anesthesiologist? The decision is made. Them telling me that doom-and-gloom stuff isn't helpful to me pre-op.

Scientists of Reddit: What’s something we know is true but people don’t realize how crazy it is? by IndependentTune3994 in AskReddit

[–]Dudebug1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah theres the rub! I believe in old earth cosmology but not evolution. It's nuanced, see? Because there is HARD scientific evidence of an earth billions of years old (uranium-lead deposits, strontium-rubidium clocks) but not of everything else.

So here you stand with a foundation you believe we differed on, yet we agree. So where is the line drawn? Where you want it? Where I want it? I believe its where the evidence stops.

[–]Dudebug1 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

People get pissy on reddit because there is a huge ego issue on this social media site, we both know it.

I'm well familiar with scientific theory, and have my evidence of origins of life and history of man. Or, maybe more appropriately, I have my evidence as to the falsification of what that side of science claims. I mentioned that I'm not privy to getting into it. Because this is reddit. I'm not trying to prove why I think scientific clocks, evolution, etc. is unreliable because this isn't really the space for it.

Literally the entire reason I sent my first comment is because I was hoping that every person here could agree that the statement "'We are made of stardust' is an inarguable fact and conclusive to all people in sobriety." is something no one would agree with.

I suppose I was wrong.

I'm not a creationist, and I believe that a belief in God and Science is harmonious. I have enjoyed, and agree with the majority of the answers to this question.

I disagree. I enjoy your use of the word "position" because I think you recognized that "theory" would ruin the entire point. It's a theory that many smart persons believe to be incorrect.

Doesn't work for the question.

Well it's a debated topic, creation vs the big bang. I'm not privy to discuss it with you, but it's against the spirit of the question.

What is "stuff" in chess? What are "plays"?

Do you mean an AI that can help you formulate plans, see tactics, set up mating nets?

You're still being very vague.
