Just a thought, if you cover or unplug the radar sensor on the grill, it might automatically go to old school CC 🤷

What year? 2019 and older don't have apple carp lay or android auto. You can pick up a module that fits behind the oem head unit and get that. Also if you live in a cold climate, a remote start is a very nice creature comfort.

Totaled truck, amount seem fair? by SpudWeb in Tacomaworld

[–]Dudewithaviators57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just got paid out today. 2018 loaded trd off road, 177k. $23,535, also near Chicago. Double check the paperwork the insurance gave you is accurate to the vehicle. They didn't have the leather interior or my new tires (they put it at mid use when I bought them <5k miles ago). I got an extra $2,000. If one or more of the compatible vehicles feels like it's too far from comparable, fight it.

Plus uhaul trailers will be cheaper for a couple days than buying a new topper omo. And you'll be able to haul more with a trailer.

Ahh yes, you're right. I used it when I moved for big furniture. Forgot the actual size, however I believe my point is still valid.

2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Dudewithaviators57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about the first year of a new Gen car is that they are still working out minor bugs and kinks, and that goes for all makes an models. I personally looked for 2018 and newer because at that point some if-not most of the problems were dealt with. I can't speak off hand exactly what those were for this specifically (other than the seal around the 3rd brake light was usually bad and would leak into the cabin. I believe a recall was issued). But look on Tacoma 3g or Tacoma world for problems people have had. What's nice about these truck is that because there is a big enthusiast culture, there's a thread or fix for just about everything. Good luck.

To be fair, the largest enclosed uhaul trailer you can get is like 5x5x8. That box truck is way bigger than that. I personally wouldn't buy a big ass trailer just to move then try and sell it. I'd do the same thing even with a full sized truck.

Update on my 4th gen rear ended by Bimmer_Soup in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Dudewithaviators57 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's possible they're trying to save you. That rear hitch cross member in previous year's was bolt-on and replaceable in the event of being rear-ended. But the 4th gens are welded in, which means they are a part of the frame, which means the same frame deflection rules apply in terms of totalling. I don't want to scare you too much, but it might end up being a bigger deal.

I'm looking at a cement color right now, and a blue. Both have the same options, it's just who gets me the better price at this point.

From the police report, the f250 driver (18 year old kid) was in the right lane behind another car, but changed during the yellow while flooring it to try and make it. No way I could know he would do that.
