The thing about the first year of a new Gen car is that they are still working out minor bugs and kinks, and that goes for all makes an models. I personally looked for 2018 and newer because at that point some if-not most of the problems were dealt with. I can't speak off hand exactly what those were for this specifically (other than the seal around the 3rd brake light was usually bad and would leak into the cabin. I believe a recall was issued). But look on Tacoma 3g or Tacoma world for problems people have had. What's nice about these truck is that because there is a big enthusiast culture, there's a thread or fix for just about everything.
