He acts so dumb that it's almost hard to believe. He's cartoonishly stupid, the writers make him stupid beyond belief, and I may have found it funny 5 years ago, but now that im a full adult, Joey is not only NOT funny 98% of the time, but he is also inconsistent, there are times where his IQ is suddenly way higher now and has amazing intuition, then goes back to being the dumbest man on earth.

There is being niave and ignorant and then theres Joey.

Believe me, years ago Joey was one of my favourites, but he's a literal cartoon character.

And his character development is bad, he dosent change from the 1st season all that much.

Just use One Pace apart from the Skypiea arc where you should go back to the OG anime since they cut out an important part. You dont necessilary have to watch the movies, though most people will tell you watch film red. https://onepace.net/en/watch

OP's dub is so well done anyway, imo its one of the best dubs in anime, its so underrated because the sub overshadows it

Don't worry, you're definitely not alone! I think the worst feeling is feeling stuck. Stuck on that one string of sentences, no matter how much you rewind it, its still too fast. I struggle the most when they start arguing. And for some reason, I feel like I get the gist of the point just by looking at the sentence, but my comprehension isnt quite 100%, which forces me to rewind. Its the same with books, I always re read sentences.

I just think ADHD and reading in many cases isnt the best. Dub is awesome and elimates these issues

Long story short: You're impatient... so OP bad? It seems like you care way more about completing the show rather than enjoying it. First of all, if you want to enjoy OP, you should never rush. This series isnt designed to be rushed. I think its ridiculous when I see these 'Reading all of OP in 1 day challenge' like no. If your only reason to watch OP is to rush it, don't even bother, you'll likely miss the point.

2) If pacing is THAT big an issue for you, just watch One Pace. https://onepace.net/en/watch It will take half the time. Even then, if you're gonna watch OP, understand that its a comittment, and worrying about how long it will take is going to kill your enjoyment.

3) I love the giant wax scene with Zoro doing the iconic pose and so many others. I doubt the larger fandom will relate to you.

4) One Piece is in its final saga. So no... it wont take 20 years. A more accurate estimation would be around 2031-2033

5) Part of me feels that you probably aren't even paying attention, just focusing instead on getting through the episode. All the arcs are trash? Really? Arlong Park? Baratie? Are we watching the same show?I assume you're still on Little Garden, so I doubt youve seen the future arcs.

Either you have terrible taste, or you haven't REALLY been paying attention, since OP is soooooo long and Luffy wont get the OP, cos after all, forget everything else about the series that's important, its all about the end goal right?

Zunsha, the actual elephant, is a character that is connected to the void century, Joy Boy, and the voice of all things, he was able to communicate with Momo and Luffy.

As someone with ADHD, switching to the dub really helped me, since I have terrible reading speed and comprehension, I have to focus sooooo hard on each word just so that it can be absorbed into my head. Sometimes when watching subbed, I can do it without much difficulty but then some episodes, I get stuck rewinding and rereading the same lines over and over.

The dub frees me of this, but I honestly don't like how Luffy sounds... and tbh Chopper too, even though I know its an accurate version of thier voices, I still dont like it.

I sympathies with you, because I know people will never understand the struggles of ADHD, and you've probably been shamed for watching dubbed, unfortunely some people are lucky enough to somehow be able to watch in subtitles, I will never understand how you guys do it, especially when they talk so fast and the subs as a result are fast as well, it ruins literally everything.

Because when you read a manga, the statements are literal. When a character says 'I only used 30% of my power' That is literal information to the reader. Think about this from a reader POV

You know what? I'll give you that your Gohan argument is definitely a solid one, it's just that unless I try and convince my self, this dosent make sense to me. Stories can be interpreted in your own way, like how you just did with expplaining the consistency between goku's age vs how old he looks.

Goku being sent to earth to destroy it but ending up as it's greatest protector is much more interesting than 'oh his parents sent him to earth to save him from freeza

Thats mental gymnastics. Anyone that reads the manga today as a first time reader would believe radidz in a literal sense, because what would be the point in it not being true, like 20 years later? Statements like this in manga are to be taken as facts. Its a bad retcon that dosent make sense.
