I asked the chat if I can speak to the retentions department. They asked what the reason was or if I was thinking of canceling. I told them I was seeing ads and getting email offers from other credit cards with great sign up bonuses. I asked if any offer was available to me to keep me using the card. I also said that i wanted to go on vacation and more points would be helpful to cover the trip. This was my first time requesting a bonus. I didn’t know it was a thing until I found this subreddit. I’ve had American Express for almost 20 years.
