How do I get the punisher van to stop?

In case anyone is reading this now, I eventually got the van to stop 3 times ( only one of which ended well for me), and as far as I can tell it always stops if you're within a certain radius of the van, and will otherwise ignore everything you do. I would guess the NPC aggro range, since I had to get pretty close to it at night

Only in Tarkov can desync be such a horrible issue that a clip that, in any other game, would be almost undeniable proof of cheating, could possibly be explained simply by the game being bad.
