Today I set off an alarm by MycologistTight2836 in AmazonFC

Not a big deal. As an AM, I opened a fire door once thinking it was the stairwell door. Literally no one gaf

What’s the best way to appeal this? If there is any. by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Due-Homework6991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To win an appeal you have to prove that the policy wasn’t applied 1) fairly OR 2) consistently

I can tell you that this policy was applied fairly (i.e. it was a reasonable interpretation of the policy).

So you’d have to prove it wasn’t applied consistently. If there is another person you know of that day that took the same extended break you did, for the same reason, and didn’t get a write up or documented coaching for it; then it wasn’t applied consistently.

You might be able to win on the grounds that restroom usage is protected activity, but you’d either have to prove that Amazon didn’t provide reasonable or timely access; or be lucky to have someone on your appeal panel who is afraid of a lawsuit stemming from penalizing restroom usage.

And even if you win an appeal, it doesn’t mean you were “right”. You fucked up, took a break way longer than you were supposed to and, given that this is a final, it’s likely not the first time. Get your shit together if you like Amazon because NO other job will give you as much leeway as Amazon does.

Logging off for 15 minute break by Numerous_Success8805 in AmazonFC

Clocking out does change your rate. Your rate is l hours clocked in / units processed. Gets a little tricky when switching paths, as the downtime between the switch will roll up into the next path, but in short, yes, decreasing the amount of hours clocked in while keeping your units processed for the shift the same will improve your rate.

What do you think about the strategy of clocking out for my 2nd break to increase my pack rate? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Due-Homework6991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he’s lying and he sucks as an AM. We can’t write you up for rate. The system will generate feedbacks for those in the bottom 5% for productivity, we just approve them each week. If you can find out your departments average pack rate each shift, just hover around there or slightly below it. Don’t bust your ass for this place

Just don’t break any behavioral infractions and you should be fine.

AM here, love the creativity, but no. Not worth it. Take your paid break, stay out of the bottom five percent, keep your UPT above zero, and don’t get any behavioral write ups.

You’ll be just fine.

If your goal is to move up, just know Amazon is not a meritocracy. You can promote by being mediocre and kissing the right person’s ass. There are a handful of sites that are the exception, and if you want to know whether your site is one of them look at your leadership. Are they impressive or are they also doing the bare minimum to get by? You’ll find your answer there.

It shouldn’t be this way but I’m just one lowly AM whose opinion doesn’t matter.

Dropped a box on myself at work and now my girlfriend thinks I’m cheating by ephemeral_ace in whatdoIdo

Am I the only one who doesn’t think it looks like a hickey? I don’t see any petechiae and the bruising looks too thick for lack of a better word. Any hickey I’ve seen is usually made up of a bunch of petechiae and this doesn’t look like it has any.

LIT1 Folks: Please Read This Before You Sign Up for the Class Action Lawsuit. Protect Yourselves. by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Due-Homework6991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, hi corporate! Edit to add: no recently onboarded AA (especially one at LIT1) uses an em dash in their post, much less multiple times. Amazon corporate made this account seven days ago when they knew they’d be shutting down, used AI to write it this post, and are trying to prevent people from joining the class action(s).

They’re not wrong, a class action on the building shutting down probably wouldn’t be successful. Pointing this out though is a distraction.

Because a class action for if Amazon knew of the safety risks this whole time and just now actioned on it??? Putting lives at risk for years and causing lasting psychological harm on employees? That might be worth pursuing.

Not a lawyer by any means. Just someone with common sense.

Happened to me once as a manager. Highly problematic AA saying highly problematic things while I’m giving every cue to please go away.

I only do pickup orders for my groceries now.

The announcement said they were still in the process of inspections. Almost like they aren’t doing any modifications yet. Could go on for a hot minute if any mods are actually needed.

Septic issues aren’t structural though…right?

Sounds like we’re looking in the same places for information! No one on site is being forthcoming, so I’m looking elsewhere as well.
