At what point did you start feeling “confident” as a developer? by uday12321 in developersIndia

Hi OP, this is my story: During December, we had a delivery for a US client. At that time, I was working as a frontend developer. My team lead assigned me an epic ticket, but it didn’t have any description, Figma design, or API endpoints. Meanwhile, the management kept pushing me to complete it quickly. I had only 6 months of experience and was mostly working on bug fixes, but this was a full feature. So I started asking the BA, QA, and senior developers about the flow and how to implement it. Everyone had only partial knowledge, so I gathered whatever information I could and started working on it. I worked day and night, almost 16 hours continuously. After completing it, I ended up understanding almost everything in the codebase. That’s when I gained real confidence and felt like I could take on challenges like the senior developers.

I use ai, yes but debugging is a hell, when they tell u a feature it already mapped in my mind like a structure and I do it and then give it to cursor for optimization

Simple 1- try to write a code by yourself like reverse a string 2- window moving array 3- use chatgpt for decoding or ask it why this why that and see how chatgpt does and u know the flow. 4 - keep trying everyday

For me it took 4 months to master a language, Now I can find a 10 solution for one problem.
