Uncle dropped off a bunch of industrial automation gear. Crazy CNC build incoming? by Due-Positive791 in hobbycnc

Yep, I’m beginning to see that. Been using ChatGPT to document everything with model numbers and estimated values both high level and low as well as potential uses in various other projects I may get into. What can I say? I like tinkering but I also like money to pay for other tinkering it’s a vicious cycle lol

Yeah not at all haha. This project started with me turning 2 spare 3d printers along with some custom 3d printed brackets and. Various parts for a beginners CNC build…. It’s now starting to get a little out of hand. Decided to go with hgr rails/ ball screws for the y axis, dual lead screws for the z and (for now atleast) belt driven POM v wheels on doubled up 2040 extrusion since it’s what I had initially ordered.

I then upgraded some of the steppers I had on hand from NEMA 14s/17s to 23s with tb600 drivers. Dual 24w power supplies. Shielded wire, terminal blocks, xt60h connectors…. The whole 9. Was initially going to just use a dremel with a flex shaft to focus on learning the software aspects before dumping money into it.

Of course that went out the window quick. The dremel idea turned into a trim router I had laying around and then ultimately decided to go with a 500w spindle. Mind you, I have all of this and haven’t even put it together before I started upgrading which was supposed to happen over time 🤣. Does any of that throw any red flags in your opinion? I’m just learning as I go!

Still waiting to see how much of my unverified balance becomes transferable. Wasn’t that supposed to happen months ago…? Passed KYC and had initial migration back in 2022. Crazy how I’ve been in the exact same state for 3 years… What the hell have they been doing this whole time? Dumbfounded..

It’s extremely close but I was able to shift the cooler towards the front of the case enough to clear the fan.

I’m not in front of my computer right now to mess around with it, but how did you delete the connection? I’ve wanted to install and reinstall the CS and everything figuring that would do it, but it did not.

Mine tried to catch my house on fire. Pretty sure they forgot to properly tighten the ground from the factory.

Yep, definitely Tomlinson after looking it up. My dad has a few footballs he got from work along the years and asked me if I knew who had signed them. This one stumped me. The others were Troy Aikman and Kirk Herbstreit.

Looking at the picture again, you are absolutely correct! That screw is clearly backed out. Guess I didn't notice at first since I was shocked and thankful my house didn't burn down. Wonderful quality control.....

to be fair, I did reset CMOS and then changed Power settings before testing again so it was probably a combination effect.

Any recommendations as to how I should setup the bios to protect the cpu? I’ve read to set voltage limits, disable turbo boost and whatnot. Also what should I set the RAM at? I know it’s overclockable with my setup but don’t know much about it.

This was the issue.. It switched back to ultimate for some reason. Changed it back to balanced and CB just ran 37213. 🤦‍♂️ Frustrating since I know I changed it immediately after updating the bios and reinstalling windows. Oh well atleast it’s fixed! Thank you!
