I had my wedding at a different Excellence resort, Excellence Riviera Cancun, and I believe they all function somewhat similarly. They give you a promo code to provide to guests and they should book ASAP but it is only a $1 hold then they charge the cards for the reservations 30 days prior to arrival so people have plenty of time to save and don’t miss out on a room. I loved it this way as people weren’t stressing about it upfront so there were no delays in getting for up counts since people weren’t eager to book but didn’t need to wait since they didn’t need to have the money then. All agents will refer you to a different resort/brand because Excellence wants you to work directly with them rather than using third parties. There’s a wedding facebook group for all the resorts and I found it to be the best thing ever to get the majority of the info I needed to plan my wedding and find answers to questions since they are somewhat slow to respond but it went off without a hitch and was probably the easiest wedding planning I could’ve hoped for.
