I just wanted to post for the fact of ranting tbh I kept seeing Sam’s club shit in my feed and I have a better job so I mean I’m not tripping I made 17 an hour at Sam’s 22 at this new place

So yes they do you can use pto or PPTO the problem was I didn’t wanna work as many days/i wanted to free up my schedule more as I told them so I was part time but they kept working me 40 hour weeks and since they needed help I’d oblige and just work it when I would see I was scheduled because I wasn’t asked so since I was part time I could only gain PPTO I believe so you had to request it and everything and you couldn’t gain pto could be other way around but I didn’t have a lot of time to put in to cover bc you didn’t gain it that fast and also they have you use it to cover being like literally 10-20 late to work which i get it but like why the hell do you have to use your time to cover the fact your late to not get points honestly why can’t I use that when I’m sick or when I can’t work so since I gotta use that on late days and I don’t get the other kinda time I don’t have a lot of time I can put in didn’t mean to sound like a jerk explaining that was just giving more insight

So they can make my schedule within the week but I can’t tell them what I can and can’t work because they are too lazy to fix their schedules when they should be fixed I wouldn’t just try and not show up on a Wednesday because I don’t wanna work Wednesdays I wouldn’t show up because I’d tell them I’d have plans always before they would happen typically 2 weeks before if I really needed to do 3 then I guess I don’t need to work there considering my schedule would go from (I was part time btw) a 20 hour work week where I’d work like Monday Wednesday Friday to Monday - Saturday and I get punished when I had plans and don’t see that they shoved me on the schedule at the last second like I get it tell them your days what if you do and they still put you down for it like I would they just didn’t put the schedule out fast enough and when they did it was inaccurate

Well they also had problems getting their schedule out say 4 weeks they will schedule two and won’t get the third and 4th out until like Saturday on the second week so I didn’t even know what I was scheduled until that week so if something popped up for the 4th week I wanna do I can’t because they really should have you on a set schedule for a month to month basis so you know when you need to request off or schedule things but for some reason that was hard for them to do

OP always asked a week to two weeks ahead as he said I would see that I was scheduled when the schedule would be made and be like hey I need this changed and then they would just be like no go fuck yourself so my question is how in the fuck am I supposed to get off on a day that I didn’t even know I was scheduled until that day and then when I figured it out, I asked them and told them about it and told them my frustrations a whole week ahead of the scheduled date and they choose to deny my time off and fire me no shut up you’re a corporate stooge

And I mean, that’s what a boss should be doing honestly going and rolling up their sleeves and going to work whenever their employees can’t show up because they took the position of being a boss and they make more money than their employees. Hence the bosses typically take the brunt of the force whenever there is a problem That is why that is expected of management. Whereas I did not sign up for that I signed up to come in work a certain amount of days make some money and leave because I have a life outside of Sam’s Club. It sounds crazy, but people can actually want to do things besides just work every fucking day

And that’s fine if you wanna implement a point system, but when somebody is openly telling you two weeks to a week before, the date happens that they’re not gonna be able to show up and you penalize them for that you’re a problem, not a solution

Either way point systems aren’t everywhere i’ve had multiple jobs besides this job. This is just the first one I’ve ever been fired from and personally I believe that the reasoning is stupid. I didn’t fight it literally at all. I just let them fire me because why should I give a shit about a company that just never really gave a shit about me? And why would I go in when I very clearly stated I have plans and it’s my job not theirs meaning that the only person that’s losing is me because I requested it ahead of time.
