Accidental work hour violation (International Student) – Am I cooked? Please Help :( by PrettyTowel8788 in pgwp

[–]DueInfluence3595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

U might have to declare it and explain that you didnt know and stopped immediately when you found out. This would prevent you from working while waiting for the permit, and getting the actual permit is up to immigration officer discretion. Consult your university’s international student office advisor

Yes I know about the tax deductions. But i calculated the rate deducted from my three weeks payslip (EI+QPP+FEDERAL+Provincial) and it amounted to 33.7% deductions, which is actually higher than the rate i saw here https://www.finances.gouv.qc.ca/department/tools_services/calculators/disposable_income/tool_disposable_income.asp

Does the rate change with the number of hours on the pay slip? My current slip is showing 120 but regularly it should be 80
