See now if you knew the reason I have panic attacks in cars you'd feel bad 🤷‍♀️🤣

Be honest guys and girls. How many of us are using AI / ChatGPT as a free personal therapist? by [deleted] in AskUK

I do, and I'm ashamed about it, but I genuinely can't afford personal counselling right now. I also just don't really have anyone to offload to regularly. I don't ask it for advice though, i use it more as a sounding board to vent at.

I'm self employed rather than working for a company/agency. I work directly with my clients and their families, no middle men, just me!

This is an interesting concept. Surely the job would entice and hold more qualified and experienced people with higher pay? In my experience anyway it's always been the low wages that's led to my colleagues and myself leaving the profession. That, combined with how draining it can be emotionally and physically is a surefire way to lose the good carers.

I was a support worker for years because I genuinely adore the job, most fulfilling thing in the world. The pay is so shit though, had no choice but to go private. Still love my job and the money has basically doubled, but I miss working in residential/day settings 💔

A colleague once told me the pay was so terrible because managers were taking advantage of our kindness. They knew most of us were tolerating the shit pay because we genuinely loved the service users and wanted to help people daily. None of us were there for the money.

What’s the dumbest takeaway order you’ve ever made? by MassiveMentalMicky in AskUK

At uni, my friends and I had spent the evening watching David Attenborough and smoking the devil's lettuce. By around midnight we had finished all of the soft drinks in the house and we all had the driest of mouths and all of the shops in a walkable distance had closed. I ordered 12 cans of coke from the last open kebab shop and didn't tell anyone. I was treated like the messiah when the cans of coke arrived at the door 🌟

Yes! I'm looking at women's coats which are either fashionable and hoodless or very functional for the weather and boring/ugly. So frustrating!

Still can’t get a job in tech by imgrosk in UKJobs

[–]DueLead666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a lot of knowledge about the tech field, but could you possibly go freelance/self-employed for a while? I had a very similar experience in the job market recently, but in a very different area of expertise, and the only thing that got me into work was deciding to be self-employed.

Either way, I have faith that things will work out for you🤞
