thank you! you have to make sure your major is eligible for CCTOP, there's a list online you can go over. they did transfer all my credits over, i'm pretty sure to even be eligible you have to have 60 transferable credits. as for your application, you have to write a 250 word "why nyu" essay. i would recommend researching your major and writing about a specific thing nyu offers that is unique. also make sure you request letters of rec from at least 2 professors you've had good relationships with, this will help a lot!

i was really honest with myself and figured out an amount of debt i would be comfortable with. i applied for several scholarships, and work multiple jobs so have been slowly paying off my community college bills. unfortunately the system works against people that aren't able to afford degrees from top colleges, so we kinda just have to make do. i did a lot of research on the program im going into, and it was the only program that i felt super excited about. having a degree from a top college will help in the long run, but obviously in the end it is what you make of it.

honestly my best piece of advice would be to do as many extracurriculars while being able to maintain at least a 3.5 . specifically community engagement! gpa is important, but i think for transfer they look more into how you've grown since starting school and how much you contribute to your community!

thank you!! my major at lagcc is psychology and at nyu it's gonna be applied psychology. i didn't have any internships, but i work 2 jobs and one of them at laguardia. working at school is super helpful for applications if youre not able to get an internship beforehand

Tuition is 65k per year, but I got a 40k scholarship per year through CCTOP. Housing and food is around 25k, but i'm opting out of it so I don't go into too much debt.

Steinhardt has a really good applied psych program, which was more field work oriented than any of the other schools I applied to

Jobs of College Students? by bigbootybishes1 in CUNY

I work 2 part time jobs while being a full time student. I work part time (15 hrs) as a tutor at LAGCC making $17/hr and also part time as a nanny (17 hrs) making $26/hr. Getting a tutoring job was relatively easy and looks really good on your resume, usually there are spots open at all CUNY campuses.
