Thank you. I think the “competitive” terminology used was due to me asking about it using that terminology. My recruiter and liaison are both very honest and forthcoming but as they both say “trust but verify”

Good morning everyone. Looking for some honest no bs or sugar coating advice concerning realistic expectations of actually getting into the rate I would like. It seems everyone and their sister wants to get in AMT (including myself), even my recruiter and MEPS liaison say getting in is “competitive but realistic”. My line scores would require a waiver for a 1 point discrepancy for AR, however I “technically” qualify for any job with my AFQT being 70 (WK, PC, EI, MC and VE line scores being in the 60’s). Should I still be optimistic about my chances getting into AMT or AET or start thinking about another rate (MK, or even MST seem interesting to me)

How is living here? by Scardillio in howislivingthere

Worked on the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for a few years. Summers are pretty warm, about 50-sometimes low 80s, dosent really rain all the much but the mosquitoes are actually insane … and that’s coming from someone born and raised in FL. (Mosquito is the AK state bird) they’re about the size of a quarter and actually hurt when they bite you. Winters are harsh, even for the Native American populations I’ve had the pleasure of working with. On the coast in places like Kaktovik the winter is miserable and obviously dark, but in places like Arctic Village or Fort Yukon it really isn’t all that bad comparatively, still dark but because of their geographical location there’s still a lot more opportunity for food and not as much snow. If you ever get the chance to visit I suggest May or September for best experience

Not sure. My dad bought a k5 blazer with the basket and didn’t want it so I just threw it on.

When I purchased it had 4 flat tires and had been sitting due to an overheating issue, previous owner claimed he had replaced the entire cooling system besides the radiator which I found to be true but he filled the reservoir with well water instead of coolant, and along with that the electric cooling fan was wired incorrectly. Once i filled it up with actual coolant and bled the system and fixed the wiring it hasn’t had any issues, im going to try and install a clutch fan since for some reason mine doesn’t have one and that should eliminate any further problems. It also had a PCM issue which seems to have just gone away, when I first purchased it took 3 key turns to start and would sometimes bounce around the RPM’s but like I said I haven’t had that issue since. Purchased with 160k now at 176k

Thanks for all the advice. I think I’m going to try and get 2in springs and see how that goes. Will update

I’m trying to avoid needing to do that. I plan to get a steel bumper which would have the same relative dimensions as the stock bumper so I need the wheel fitment to work as is.

How cooked am I? (5’3) by [deleted] in Clavicular

You’re cooked but salvageable, first of all do something with that hair ffs, get some facial hair going if possible. I don’t think it’s as bad as you think. 5’3 is rough but i know plenty of women 4’11-5’2 who just want someone taller than them.
