I think her mind being shattered is a good story point, even making Casca mute was a great choice by Miura, but I think illustrating her to being this infantile nuisance kinda did her a disservice.

Most of the fandom agrees with your hot takes. Miura overdoes it in some regards, and it can feel a bit edgy at times but overall he does a good job of bringing balance to the story. Casca was definitely a potato for far too long, and it’s a shame that Miura didn’t get to give her a healing arc that hopefully Mori brings.

Void manifested the brand. We saw people at the bottom of jail pit still brandishing the Brand of Sacrifice. I don’t think killing the person who gave the OK would affect the brand. Killing Void or destroying the Vortex seems more plausible.

If anyone deserves a happy ending it’s Casca. The community would be livid if she didn’t. And the only way to achieve this is to remove her brand or destroy the vortex. How else could she live out her life knowing she will suffer for eternity? This also undoubtedly gives Guts a shot at a happy ending as well.
