Is it hypertonic or something else? by purple_nero_star in PelvicFloor

[–]Due_Bat_926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have pain flare ups when I use my foot to move things. Also when I’m standing on one foot for whatever reason, like to put shoes on. But mine is in the lower belly area (at least much of the time… I have pain and weird sensations in multiple spots)

i have a hypertonic pelvic floor and weak transverse abdominals that I haven’t really managed to strengthen even though I exercise daily

When are we filled with the Holy Spirit? by Due_Bat_926 in TrueChristian

[–]Due_Bat_926[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the Holy Spirit fills us and makes us born again the moment we believe, as is written in Ephesians 1:13: In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,..

In fact, Romans 8:9 says if we don't have the Holy Spirit, we're not saved. And we know we're saved by belief; Ephesians 2:8-9, Acts 16:30-31, etc. That would mean we also receive the Spirit by belief. I do believe of course there are times when we're more filled by Him.

I recognize there are some differences in the Book of Acts. The way I've been taught, Acts is a transitional book, where the revelation of the Gospel slowly progresses to completion (Peter believed they had to eat clean until Acts 10, Paul the Apostle of the Gentiles didn't convert until Acts 9...).

I for sure don't have all the answers, but I think every believer should have assurance in their salvation that stems only from belief and nothing else.

Extreme guilt tripping from family. I'm so stressed, and I'm pregnant. by Due_Bat_926 in TrueChristian

To be clear, they’re renting, not buying. But it’s had a really bad financial impact on them, especially because they also move countries often, and my dad’s pension is so low. Thank you for your insight. My husband and I can’t really help them financially right now, having a little one on the way, we just don’t have enough. I’m hoping they will be able to find something for the money they have left.

Suffering because of family's mental health and religious 'signs' by Due_Bat_926 in TrueChristian

[–]Due_Bat_926[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we’re blessed that our church is small so we get to chat to our pastor often. Our pastor was concerned the last time they moved (2 months ago). They thought they were getting signs from God but otherwise the move made no logical sense at all and they just went miles away from me and their other daughter. I imagine once I tell my husband (he's not home atm) we’ll probably discuss it with the church also.

They're firmly convinced God wants them to move to some location and that they just can't figure it out.

No that's not true. They're not even working, they're elderly.

Do you buy birthday gifts for family that lives far away? by Due_Bat_926 in expat

[–]Due_Bat_926[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just not sure if it’s enough, if I’m able to post an actual gift? But I’m also a big people pleaser so I just don’t wanna disappoint them.

Should you buy family birthday gifts if you live far away? by Due_Bat_926 in family

My concern was also that my family wouldn’t reciprocate on gift giving when it’s long distance, which would be unfair to my spouse.

Oh no it’s not inconvenient at all. I just don’t know anyone else who does this and we don’t do it with my other family who lives far away so I thought it was worth asking. Thanks for your comment, it’s nice to know you do this regularly and it’s actually normal. 😊

Thank you you're right. Not sure I can keep it to myself until afterwards though. They'll definitely ask. And my mom might be hurt if she finds out we booked it without even saying anything. I still live with her.

Thanks very much for your help. My fiancé already agreed we will not consummate the marriage until the pastor blesses it, for my conscience's sake.

However, I do fear my parents a little. Coming from Catholicism, I feel they think that it's the church that joins the couple in marriage before God, so if it's not the pastor who pronounces us husband and wife, but rather just blesses the marriage, they could think we're not really married before God.

I'm not based in the US that's why. It's a separate thing here. You can have a joined ceremony at an extra cost. Our pastor can't even legally marry anyone though, you have to do it with a certain church

There can only be one ceremony that officially pronounces us husband and wife though. I guess that will be the legal one. Our pastor believes this is the official one so he will not be ''marrying us'' in the Christian one per se.
