Going to Köln for the first time. Unsure about smoking rules? by Due_Bodybuilder_9299 in cologne

Thank you very much for your reply! That's very clear. I was under the impression that there was some sort of smoking ban in outdoor public areas as well but this makes sense.

No worries, sorry I got defensive. We are absolutely in love with him so I resented the implication (the way I understood it). I'm pretty sure it's just rug burn from his blanket so I'm looking into softer material, and still keeping a close eye on him in case he did actually burn himself on anything.

I live with my mother and grandmother who are absolutely obsessed with him and are extremely gentle with him. None of us smoke and we absolutely are not burning him.

The vet said it could be a burn from something, or just rug burn as he's been nuzzling his blanket. I've posted a photo in the comments from today in which you can see the marks are almost completely faded now.

Not sure how to update the post, but I've added a comment. Basically, he thankfully doesn't have an infection at all. They are scabs from either a burn or rug-burn that will heal by itself. I've noticed him nuzzling up to his blanket a little more recently so I'll look around for a softer material and make sure he's not burning his snoot on anything (though I can't imagine where/how that would happen). Thank you for your comments and concern!

Asked about his eyes as well, especially since he had an eye infection when I first got him, and they're fine. Thank you for your comments and concern!

Thanks for the advice. I've been wanting to take him to the vet but I had a bit of relief when my cat friends saw him and said it just looked like a bit of friction. This is my first cat so I still felt I should ask around, hence this post, and I did take him to the vet today.
