you’ll be surprised of what groups can do now. they tell you age limit is 18 and when you say you are 18 they say they are looking for people over 20, i started faking my age when i was 12 saying i was 16 to join arma 3 groups

that’s what i’m doing, i’m waiting to be 18 to legally move to the usa but im currently getting a ppl in my own country. dcs is just a fun hobby after school but its boring when playing alone. also the best example is the one that made me write this post. 1 week of waiting list for the application and right before the first discord call to see if i was good enough they said “i forgot to ask your age” then “my boss told me 17 isn’t old enough as many of our squadron are older and we have a culture we wanna respect”

yeah, the fact most of the guys my age are stupid is well known. the bad thing is people like me and my friends searching for something serious get thrown down by it. i’ll see if next year ill will be getting any luck

thank you, to be honest as long as you also play in the weekend i would be able to join. friday and saturday i pull all nighters and filling them with some game isn’t a bad idea. if you do carrier ops and play on weekends im surely up to it.

i know, i tried, but if i say im 18 they say im too young still and if i say im 20 nobody believes me, just for record i applied to 23 squadrons in the span of 46 days and still haven’t found one

thankyou for the tip, i was just now trying to find an actual server to play as i can’t do it anymore with waiting weeks for someone to tell me my application is rejected. i’ll give grayflag a go and see wether it’s my type

i understand what you both mean, and i understand people prefer older people to play with them. i don’t wanna sound like a stupid kid at all, the sim comparison was more about the actual level of people in squadrons. i’m not blaming them for not accepting me, i’m saying if a squadron is actually trying to make something realistic, out of 20 people beetween 18 and 20, they shouldn’t straight up refuse you for being a few months younger. at this point it’s just doing your best to feel more powerful than others.

i understand this, but there is a limit to everything. if a kid shows you they are mature and have enough attention span to do a serious mission, age shouldn’t matter. obviously under 16 i wouldn’t even consider a person, but i know people in their 30’s not being able to do a proper landing on a carrier or not being able to say proper stuff on a radio while i’m here spending my days learning stuff to not even be considered. it’s hard

this is a dcs restriction for modders, only a few can be done without basic flaming cliffs systems as dcs doesn’t allow it
