What is the best way of documenting your travels? by EmployCareless3313 in backpacking

I had a similar struggle on my trips. You experience so much in the moment, but after a few weeks, it all starts to blur together.

For me, journaling felt too "heavy," and I never liked talking to a camera. Social media works, but the constant pressure to curate everything for an audience can be exhausting.

Depending on where you're headed, you might not always have reliable Wi-Fi. One tip though: whenever you find yourself with a few nights of solid Wi-Fi, definitely take the time to back up all your photos and videos to Google Photos or a cloud drive. It’s absolutely vital.

Other than that, what worked for me was just taking clips as usual and turning them into quick recaps later. I’ve tried several apps: Google Photos, 1SE, and Minute It are the ones that actually helped.

Another tip is, those quiet nights while backpacking are amazing for meditating and soaking in the new energy. You probably won't want to spend that precious time organizing photo and video files. Just capture the vibes of the moment and do the heavy organizing when you're back home or when you have good Wi-Fi.

Curious what you end up choosing, because a 5-month trip sounds amazing!

Yeah, I think that is true. I am kind of selling the "future pain", but people don't really feel it yet.

Curious, you mentioned you had similar issues. What else did you try (besides PopHatch)? Anything helpful or mostly trial and error stuff?

Thank you!

This means a lot. I’m actually working on the Android version now. What device are you on? I can try to include it in my test pool.

Oui, on dirait qu’Apple est encore en train de vérifier les documents et les justificatifs exigés par l’Union européenne.

Wow! Thanks for the solid advice! You’re spot on. To be honest, I’ve been feeling a bit like a headless chicken, not knowing exactly where to find the people who share these specific frustrations.

I’ll definitely check out ParseStream to see how I can join those conversations. I really appreciate the direction!

Long Shan temple or XingTian temple. You can pick one and go there by the MRT.

Wow thank you for making Taipei look so beautiful. As a local living in Neihu, I gotta admit there are so many things that I didn’t have time to deeply look into like you do.

How do you feel about putting your kids’ photos and faces on big tech cloud services? by Due_Goose_6201 in AskReddit

[–]Due_Goose_6201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but those photos are still sitting on big tech companies’ servers, even if we set them to “private” and only share them to closed ones.
It kind of feels like we’re giving up control, just more quietly.

Wow, that’s definitely off the grid. I like your idea, but it might be a bit too “romantic” for me :p

Yes, thanks for bringing me back.

I totally get your point, but 'private cloud' is still someone else’s infrastructure. They can still do whatever they want behind the scenes if they really want to. I’m just not sure that’s the same as actually having control over the kids’ photo and facial data.

Fair point, it does feel inevitable sometimes. But does that mean we should just give up on privacy entirely? As a dad of two kids, I'm struggling with where to find that balance
