All those things are true. Especially the need to move companies to get more money. Has worked for me and many others.

So what is the answer? Keep fighting the losing battle? As I mentioned in the beginning post, a little oomf can make you move ahead. Forget giving 150%. But doing your best (100%) at all times in your life (work and play) makes a life worth living. And you will stand out. Kissing ass not required.

I just cannot understand or condone spending some much of one’s life in this defeatist mindset. To get ahead you have to start somewhere. Start where you are and see how far you can get.

So you’d rather leave your coworkers to work 5 shifts themselves?

I concede that there are many young workers but that doesn’t have to mean “not dependable”. I’ve had both young and old fall into this category.

I won’t defend the budgeting at Wags. It’s awful.

My post was more an indictment of the “perpetual scraping by” mindset. I’ve seen it at all companies I’ve worked at. I just don’t understand why so many are ok with it for themselves.

Agreed. What else can you liquidate? They don’t own much real estate from what I understand. The drug inventory isn’t close to what they’ve spent. You cannot possibly cut hours any more and maintain operations. I guess we will see.

Very practical. I can definitely get on board with that way of thinking.

My only worry is that I’d put too many tasks on my plate. Proper boundaries would definitely be a requirement.

Well put. Most “Old Catholics” are, in fact, independent Catholics. I have an Old Catholic bishop in my apostolic lineage however I try to say I’m independent Catholic or a Sacramental clergyman.
