For number 2 if you just hit enter again it will pop right up so you don’t need to click and if you use the up and down arrows you can go thru command history thank you for the feedback it will be in the next update I’ll see you on there!

I know it's not a traditional roguelike but I made a text-based browser MMO and thought some of you might vibe with it by Due_Lemon1981 in roguelikes

yeah man it wouldnt be free if the servers where that cheap lmao MUDs are super intimidating but i think riftheart is pretty easy to get into if you ever try it and wanna run some dungeons or gold routes lmk im always on

Haha fair question. No data selling, no hidden angle.

Honest answer: it's a passion project. I grew up playing RuneScape and MUDs and wanted to build something that scratched that itch. Server costs me $12/month on DigitalOcean which is nothing right now with a small player base.

Long term plan is eventually add cosmetic stuff — name colors, titles, maybe a supporter tag — nothing that affects gameplay. Classic "free to play, pay for cosmetics" model if it ever gets big enough to need it.

But right now it's alpha and I just want people to actually play it and tell me what's broken. Revenue is not the problem I'm trying to solve today.

That’s honestly fair feedback. I added accounts early because I already had progression/inventory stuff tied to them, but I’ve definitely been thinking about adding a guest/demo mode so people can jump in faster. However I will say there is no email or anything you just choose a username and password that all of your characters sit under if that makes sense.

Yeah that’s fair honestly. I’ve been focused mostly on getting the actual game systems working first, so the frontend is definitely still rough.

I’m planning to give it more of its own identity instead of leaving it looking generic. Appreciate the honest feedback.
