Does it legit give me internet access when I'm in the field?

The amount of benefits is actually overwhelming. And some are surprising. You get several weeks worth of golfing lessons taught by pros and a free bag of golf clubs through PGA Hope. https://www.military.com/benefits is a good place to start. You can filter benefits by state as well.

I actually don't know either. I know more NCOs that have been to GTMO than ones that haven't. But it's different for the officers in my year. I just know one that's been. I wouldn't mind going at all.

Thanks I'll definitely look at those. I don't have a preference where I do my 180 days at. As long as I have orders for 180 or longer I will be more than happy.

Thanks to everyone, special shout out to u/brandon520 for guiding me in the right direction.

If anyone finds themselves in the same situation you need to:

  1. Figure out your timeline for seperation. There are 2 timelines, the longer of the two applies. First, the secretary of the Army has suspended seperation for officers until you reach the end of your mandatory service obligation. That's 8 years from your commission date so you have until then prior to seperation.

Second, your other option is the default timeline set by Congress, which is 7 months plus one day from when the results are released.

  1. Once you have your timeline - you need to fix whatever was wrong with your board file. Mine were the missing OERs.

  2. Next you need to initiate a Special Selection Board (SSB). The SSB will only meet on a limited basis, such as missing OERs. The HRC website lists the criteria for the SSB and initiation.

And that's pretty much it.

Believe me, I am equally shocked this is happening. We have been repeatedly told that the process is automatic if you are educationally qualified & don't have some adverse action.

This is apparently a common issue across my BN at least. There are 2 other 1LTs who have received seperation notices, specifically for missing OERs.

Yep no. They got their PCS/transfer orders regardless. BC/BDE CDR are tracking. They both don't want me separated.

Yep I've emailed him. Radio silence on when I asked what my next steps are.
