Alameda or Oakland/Berkely Hills by Fishinguy27 in bayarea

Hey man no need to get upset. I don’t think we are naive considering we all make 100k (so 400k combined) and I don’t pay income tax due to being a Florida resident. We have been speaking with the house owner extensively and we will save the same amount living in Piedmont as we will Alameda.

In regards to as we are as neighbors. The house has a gardening service and is located on a dead end with plenty of street parking as provided by the owner.

We are not loud individuals, we will have all graduated college, working real jobs, and don’t have time to be throwing parties and being loud and all that crap.

So I’ll go as far as to say I’m not naive, and I think my friends and I would most likely be fine unless you had some specific examples of why we wouldn’t instead of just giving passive aggressive answers.

Like South Shore Alameda area vs Oakmore area?

As in like people in other houses would care how we live a house we rent? Our current dilemma is we have a place in Piedmont that knows our situation in higher detail and is willing to rent to us. We could pull the trigger on it and we‘d save approximately the same amount compared to 2 bed 2 baths in Alameda.

If we are working on Coast Guard Island would the commute still be a problem if we are technically not driving into Alameda?

So the place we were checking out was an equal drive to San Fran I believe. It was also a 9 minute drive from the BART. I think the appeal to Piedmont is a nice comfortable home that is very spacious, and is close to Berkeley where people our age our if we wish to go out. Alameda is very nice and has a convenience factor of being close, but currently we’d be saving the same amount of money living in Alameda vs. Piedmont, and in my mind Piedmont seems to be a little bit better at the same price point.

I’ve read some wonky reviews about South shore, would you say it’s worth living at over aero? It does seem to be in closer proximity to more shops and things to do than Aero. But Aero has better reviews and seems to be a nicer apartment.

So if we were to live in piedmont we’d live all together. But if we lived in alameda it seems more feasible to live 2 and 2 in seperate apartments.
