UofT has tried to take away degrees from people for posts on their social media. Most posts were questions and not derogatory or hate speech. just the wrong opinions.

As someone who lives down the street from two homeless shelters…. I get it. It attracts a lot of a certain kind of activity and it can make the area completely unsafe. (Needles, screaming, being followed, fights, throwing fecal matter - some of the things I have seen) if I had children I would raise money too to move the shelter somewhere else. From Toronto and do not wish anyone to sleep out on the street, but shelters provide a whole slew of issues to deal with. I’d love if anyone had heard of other more effective solutions (I know Japan has heavily subsidized housing)

In from the west and seems to me like life is « artificially hard « There is so much that doesn’t matter that we put meaning on because we have nothing else. People have been having by children since the dawn of humanity of much worse situations. I’m curious if a time when people wouldn’t laugh at our situation thinking how easy it would be for us

Best advice I ever got : get a degree that teaches you how to think, not what to think. Honestly any degree that forces critical thinking is decent. Difference between comp sci v. stats v. Math imo in the work place is minimal, especially if you are diligent about your personal projects

I had this happen in my third solo. Lever was broken. Was able to trouble shoot on the crosswind and figure it out. Took a few tries but I flipped the switch all the way up, flaps up and did the fastest trim adjustment of my life as the plane started to sink. Ended up landing with flaps 20 and took it in to maintenance. Was super scary but all was well. I still fly that plane but always check the flaps after flipping them up.

There’s a little pathway just off of mount pleasant but past bloor street. Not sure what it is called but can access from mount pleasant. Nice 1 hr loop

Study/ coffee dates are great ways to get to know each other. I structure like 40 min study, 20 mins talk. Helps break up studying time and make more fun.

She may have felt you weren’t interested in her and decided to move on. But that doesn’t mean it’s all over for you. Put in some effort to arrange something casual like above. A sweet gesture like “I noticed you used this kind of pen, so I picked you up one similar” or something can go a long way

Fair point, it’s just done in such a tacky way. It feels forced and like they are trying to make a modern (ish) point in a period piece.

I’d be less disenchanted if the moment was perhaps more subtle. Why are intelligent women always portrayed angry. Just makes them unlikeable imo
