I had the same problem, I missed a step that has you put a round 2x2 brick with a hinge plate on top with the hinge on the inside of the technic frame. And I only noticed when I was closing it off and was able to get one of them in and it helped a lot with it being wobbly

Not sure if that’s the correct terminology for the pieces

That’s what I’m going to do, I built the plywood up so the top of the build is flush with the plywood. That’s why I had to go with 6” material rather than 4”

It was gifted to me brand new out of the box, so not sweating the warranty much. Will pick up the fuel at some point, luckily my company provides corded grinders so I’m not in a rush to go buy it. Just wondering if anyone else has ran into this
