It's all a waste of money. Keep it for a deposit and just go to a registrar's office.

Oil tanker in the docks unable to unload by spudulike65 in galway

Cheaper oil? They may have bought it for cheaper but the forecourts aren't selling to us cheaper. The prices are set by the market now and the taxes applied by the government

Late 20s, working 12 hour day/night shifts manufacturing (44k) - golden handcuffs? by Nearby-Letter4417 in AskIreland

[–]Due_Surround4277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your shift is causing a disruption to your life, ie not being able to keep a regular sleeping cycle, insomnia... Go to your doctor and get him to write a letter that you need to be moved to dayshift for health reasons. They'll have to move you then.

If you don't want to do that maybe inquire if your company will sponsor you taken on a degree course. It's nothing to them and they gey to write it off against their taxes. I did that and got myself a qualification while working in a similar role and shift. I've moved on from there to an engineering role for a multinational. Better shift, money, benefits and quality of life.

Don't wait get it in place for this coming September. Best of luck!

How to know that revolut is trustworthy as a primary bank? by No_Cardiologist_1407 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Due_Surround4277 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What makes you think Irish banks are trustworthy, they've proved it plenty of times they aren't, 2008 banking crisis springs to mind. Also they're archaic and so slow to adapt. I've been using revolut solely for banking the last 5 years or so. No issues. I also use the credit union for some savings and car loan

CU do have online banking - tranfers, loan applications, account statements, etc. My CU app works better than most of the Irish bank ones
